S13 locking brakes

ummmm, so if the brake pistion is getting stuck take the caliper off the car and press the brakes so the pistion comes out(but dont pop it out al the way) when its out spray the hell out of the mofo with some good ole WD40 and while ur at it see if they have a little oxidation(rust) on them, if it is a little rusty sand it with a fine sand paper

reason i say that is because if the old calipers maybe they lost their lube or what ever u want to call it so the piston stays out

my .02 just tryen to help trouble shoot

ok so pops n i put the car up on jackstands today...checked n double check ed everything with the lines and flushed them and everything...still my pedal is stiff as a board...so for shits n giggles he takes the hose off the brake booster, my pedal goes normal again..(this is with the car running) he puts his thumb over the hose fitting and the pedeal goes stiff once again. so in our theory we think its the booster. i ordered one today and i get it tuesday...so this weekend we are gonna swap it out and hopefully...just hopefully it will solve my problem...and maybe itll solve your problem too bro!! this shit sux lol!

does your booster have a 1 way check valve for the hose? Usualy when you take vacum away from the booster it will keep the pedal stiff since the vacum is what makes the pedal soft.

I drove the car for a couple milles when the brakes star to act by themself i disconnect the brake booster and drove the car for a while, the breakes work (very hard) but never jam.....

SO LOOKS LIKE THE PROBLEM IS THE BRAKE BOOSTER!!!!!!!!!!

Vas570sx and adam chill out. Stop acting like you guys know it all. Ya tu sabes brought up a good point.

Take out your brake booster and look for cracks in the housing. Also check the input rod to make sure its not snapped bent or broken.

I had the same exact problem in my e30 when driving up to ocala for a drift event. It was so bad my rotors where sparking and caught on fire. They were glowing red. What happens is the booster gives the the brakes the assistance you need to move your calipers. With no booster connected your pedal is heavy and the braking is subpar.
When the rod/shaft is broken or messed up it acts as if your pressing on the brakes. Depending on how bad it is broken it directly ties with how hard your brakes are being applied.

So since all 4 corners are doing the same thing its almost always your brake booster.

Good job though guys trying to figure it out. Sorry i did not click the link earlier.

p.s. autozone brake booster have lifetime warranty
