s13 ignition lock

Hey guys looking for some help. Yesterday I jump in my s13 and turn the key over and BOOM, the key breaks off and a portion of it is stuck inside the ignition key hole. Any ideas on what i could do instead of ordering a new ignition lock for 120 shipped?

P.S don't tell me to unscrew the ignition swith on the left side and simply turn it with a flat head screw driver. All that does is start the car BUT IT DOESN'T UNLOCK THE WHEEL

get a new one off of another car?
usually you can find them on ebay or zilvia for like 30 bucks or so

try to get it out by taking it apart. is not that hard. or try a really thin pin to try pri it out

There's no way to take it apart. And no other 240 in a junkyard is gonna have the keys just sitting in the ignition. Small pin? Eeehh tight hole dude I don't think so.

locksmith can get that out! happend to a friend of mine. not sure on the price though, u can always call an ask

here is the way to remove the cylinder.... when we had to get rid of the ignition lock for d1/FDC stuff... pics and write up from me- scroll down... (bill also had a writeup on first post in this thread)

get it off, i have one you can buy cheaper than that 120 if you want... with key. just your doors wont match the ignition key.


if the locksmith doesnt work out for ya.
