s13 240sx questions.

Im tired, i had to flatbed a s13 to my house today and im trying to fix it. I have a couple of questions though.

1. Switched 12v for running fans. Where do you guys tap into for a nice 12 volt source thats switched. ( please dont tell me the windshield wiper motor thats ghetto as hell. )

2. On the passenger side fuse box where the fuel pump fuse is. those 3 fuses dont get power if the 30amp fuse is blown correct? And if that fuse is not blown and it still has semi bad connection what do you do?

New body harness / lower harness.

Any help with this crap would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
 
did u get e's factory's?

oh and the fans can be to the fuse box on the driver side in the car. i think a 20fuse for accessory would work when u turn the ignition it will give the fans power.

what fuse is bad in the box

fuel pump, shift lock and ecu one is bad. No power.

care to elaborate getting switched power from the drivers side fuse box. Just tap into one of them?
 
i might have an extra one lying around ill let you know. yes just tap into the 20 nothing less or it will blow

btw have u checked the main 75 amp fuse? usually its that one the alt one. without it no power

an extra what laying around a harness?

and yes all that is fine i checked it before i called it quits today after being with a multi meter for some time.

no extra fuses. does the car have an sr?

could be the wiring i guess. what gets power and what doesnt

if you have the extra fuses man ill take em. I think i would like a extra 30a green one. Let me know if you have one i can take of your hands. and yea its sr.
 
yeah ure gonna wanna run a relay for the fans,
1 wire comes off the fans(+) and goes to the relay,
then from the relay to the battery(+terminal)
u ground the (-) fan wire(s) on the chassis
then u take a wire(+) to the cab and and pull a 12v source(ignition), and on the other prong u ground the relay
i needs to show u the relay so this doesnt seem confusing, but thats how i did, i got the relay off an explorer blower fan for $10 at discount, and run a 25 amp fuse

best place considering if there is a short, the only thing affected is the wiper motor...and its not ghetto, the car engine harness runs inches under the wiper motor, you can wire it and make it seem as clean as stock...
 
hey fag i got a DiF Fan controller if you wanna buy it and try wiring it up. and if youre interested in swapping harnesses you are in for an adventure. it's not hard to do, just time consuming, gotta take off both fenders, front bumper, (maybe the lights unless you can get all the plugs off), and the complete dash assembly. your hands will get cut and you will cuss a lot if it's 100+ degrees outside. if you need help let me know. and stop bitching about windshield wiper motor, I rather have my fuel pump working 100% than my wipers lol.
 
listen to Dan he is the man... before going crazy over your harness.. see if its fixable.. check for continuity using a meter...
 
yeah ill hope on it tonight. Javis bringing the fluke lets see what the fuck is up with this harness. How much you want for that fan controller dan?

30amp Ign. fuse (passenger side engine bay fuse box) To extra 30amp fuse to switching power (I used a FAL fan switch also has it's own internal 30amp relay) To Relay (I used 2 30amp relay's one for each fan) to your fan. Fan's only come on when key is in ACC or Run and at temp. hope this helps can take a few pics if needed.
