sup ppl.... I just got my car registered friday with a tag an registration ready to go to okeechobee races. I got a stock sr with fmic and open downpipe... i was runing a 5.7 hemmi form a 40 roll i jumped a half car shot 3rd and started walking him.... *this is where everything went wrong* i shot fourth only to find my car over reving and almost losing control so i push the cluth in to realize my gearbox was in second gear (shoot me now).. i pull up to the hangout sounding like i had a jack in the box under the hood... I can hear a strong knock coming from the head:ugh::confused::mad::( im no meachanic but it sounds like a bent valve or messed up lifter... If anyone has a mechanic adivice it wud be greately appreciated
 
sounds like something i would do, lol actually i almost did that on the way back from the bbq
 
You over reved the motor you probably broke a rocker arm remove the valve cover take a pic of the head and posted in here
 
well i talked to a mechanic and he told me to fix everything and get it up and running agin it would be 500 with the machine shop included but i i also got an sr20 head for 300 on the table.....

like i said rookie driving mistake i got excited in the race went to kick the cluth extra hard and shifted all my body weight to the left causing a miss shift :( we live we learn and then we fix

yes i heard swapping the head on my sr was gonna be a mission and i had to take off my sub frame.. a mechanic told me 500 and he will give it back to me running and the head sent to a machine shop... i think thats a good price

why in the world would you take out the sub frame to do head work:confused:
 
well the final price i belive is 1000 but the includes 16 brand new oem valves witha 3 angle cut job and brand new valve seals and the apexi metal head gasket... all intallesd what u guys think in the price?

i would get a long block from jdm of miami for 600-700 depending on what u want red or black IMO... i don't work their or am best friends with the guy but i got my sr from their and runs like a fukin champ. GL man!
