Rim Shot (no Homo lol)

looks good, yea I know fingerprints are everywhere I was just trying something new out so Didn't really care. Im gonna try that setup ^ I'll post up when I do. Thanks!

For the original Pic all I used was a 500w lamp against a 24" umbrella 45 degrees to the left of the camera which explains the shadow. I'm gonna try Hayabusa's setup with all 3 lamps. we'll see...

hey hayabusa any advice with Chrome wheels? Wondering if all that reflectiveness gives a lot of Trouble?

Chrome wheels suck. If they are multi spoked one thats fine. But full faced ones are horrible. I thought that starting out shooting the hardest wheel first and get it over with would be good. Till I spent 6hrs on one wheel with no wheel shot that was good.

Point the wheel towards the right side, or which ever side the lights are on, of the tent to cut down on reflections.

That was our hardest wheel to shoot. The rwd version has a step lip so the reflections are horrible.

After looking at your first picture again it could be used for an ad. It could work out pretty well. Also don't forget to burn the stuff in the background on the left.

lol 6 hours and not one good pic? I'd be so frustrated! I'll let you know how it goes thanks a lot for the help.

Carlos

I kinda was. I def went about it the wrong way because I had no clue what I was doing. The big boss man def wasn't happy either. I will say that when we shot the 2nd wheel it was a hell of alot easier. Keep us posted on what you do. Can you post up the original of the first wheel. I'll give it a crack tomorrow with editing it and such.

thats the company you use to work for jose??

if so that sucks how dirty they did you. more manual labor than shooting wheels

x2

I got hired as a photographer and they had me helping out in the back putting wheels together.

If Carlos reads this, suck my fucking dick.

Working for Carlos @ HDM?

I used to do the pictures for them, but disliked the job, wasn't getting much work.

no im not working for him, some friend of mine bought rims from him and wanted to see cool pics of them. What happened between you guys?

^oh nvm wow that sucks, fuck that. whats the point of getting hired as a photographer if your gonna be doing manual labor???

p.s. just saw your gallery, Carlos Talked about you. He said you were really good but that you disappeared on him. Like you never called back. Lol now I know why.

Yea dude. It was a slack job and what not, but I got hired to do something.

Wheels are of good quality, can't take that away.

Got the file. I'm going to play around with it tonight. I'll upload it tomorrow morning. Only problem I'm gonna have is probably where the seat it cutting into the rim.

My take on it. I didn't put a whole lot of time into it. The original file had some of the white blades blown out and I didn't have a way to save them. When I started editing they got even worse. Put the center cap next time too.

very nice, one question, the black background? is it edited on a black background or is it the background from the picture?

its a black layer. I have the wheel on its own layer. I did mine that way because if they ever needed the wheel on a colored background I can just pick the background layer and make it the color I need.

yeah no problem man. I'm not pro at this. If you were going to get serious about doing this for the company look at other huge wheel vendors and see how they are shooting their wheels. The tent you shoot in doesn't have to be anything baller. Ours was built by the IT guy who shot the wheels before me. It was ghetto-rigged diy but it got the job done.
