Real non professional drifting.

It's funny, because just as we saw this thread me and a friend (khalilstrophic) were talking about the future of D1 and in what direction drifting is heading and what not.

Basically, most of the faces of D1 are old, they're probably going to retire soon. And then what? What's going to happen to D1, especially with the BS commercialization that's happening to drifting here in the states.

I personally think that MSC is the future, bringing it back to the grassroots level. A lot of big companies are participating/backing MSC events, hopefully something similar happens here. But I highly doubt it.:(

A little tidbit for those who don't know much about MSC. Taken from 7tune.com:

The MSC (Motor Sports Com) rounds are geared towards entry-level drift competitors wishing to participate in a structured event in a relaxed atmosphere. Nobuteru Taniguchi, who participates as a judge along with Manabu Orido, described the events as ‘lighthearted’ and a good place for confident drifters who are yet to compete to try their hand at drift competition with the aim of advancing their skills to a professional level. 13 events are scheduled this year, each with four classes: Beginner SD, Middle SD, Expert SD and Triple DD. The top 5 placed drivers from Expert SD, top placed driver from Middle SD and top two teams from Triple DD from each round are invited to compete at a final national event (yet to be decided). Prize money is also offered with 100,000 yen and a 300,000 yen FIA approved racing suit going to the winner of Expert SD, 30,000 yen for the winner of Middle SD and 10,000 yen for the winner of Beginner SD.

thats an awesome track with great drivers. And that amatuer competition sounds like a perfect way for people to gain the experience, confidence and skill to become professional. I myself have the goal of "qualifying" for a D1 event. Drifting is getting commercialized in the states and the drift tax is getting crazy. :bigthumbu

Vid was ill... Ill be out down there soon enough. And I may be new to this, but fear of wrecking will not be shown :D.. So maybe I can make some of you happy!

i wish we could have something like msc here i think alot of peoples skill level would increase faster if they had something to work for.
