Hah I was just taking with the track owner Sunday about this. He was running the idea by me and Gvilleracer and wanted to know how we felt. I know I'll enter just for the fun of it.

The opportunity is amazing.

Yes, it is a great opportunity.
We have spent quit a bit of time discussing this and its media opportunities with Ivor (the track owner).
A similar Ladder system has been ran in the UK (where rally drivers are Gods); It had an amazing 1500+ drivers sign up.
They ended up having to run the Ladder 3 time that year to get all the entrants through. But, since the series also brought in so much money they were able to Have 2 winners from each ladder. That means 6 drivers secured a seat with a pro rally team in the first year they ever tried this in the UK.
The same could happen here.

It operates on a ladder system:
Stage 1: Cost $300. One day of instruction to find out who has raw talent.
Stage 2: Cost $500. Same as above "IF" you were invited back
All subsequent stages: Free. There should only be 2 more stages to find the winners; but, if lots of people sign up. there could be more!
Also, if the turn out # is great; Ivor would like to see a "male" and "female" winner.

Either way this happens, if there is 1 winner or 8. It is still a steal because a 1 day course in ERS's rally car usually cost over $600.
EVERYONE is guaranteed 1 day of rally driving with an instructor for only $300. If your good, you move on!

The details are still very unfinished on this series. The TV, Internet, and Magazine publicity has still not been sorted. There are so many positive things around this series that can not be announced yet because they are still not set in stone.

It was really too soon to announce this just yet: but, since its out of the bag...Lets hear your comments!

You can cancel the event since the best us rally driver is me! LOL I'm from Finland and over 50% of the WRC champions are from there so I'm the obvious winner. You can still have the series if you are looking for the second best. LOL

But seriously are they front wheel drive, rearwheel or fourwheel drive cars? Are all the events at ERS?

Ya, you guys also make up 90% of the staff at ERS!...Play nice Harri!

All drivers will start in 2wd (most likely a Ford Focus).
If the driver gets invited back either the course stage will be more challenging or they will be in a more powerful car(it will very each time they return).
They usually go in this order. 2wd N/A - 4wd N/A - 4wd Turbo (the schools has Celica, Impreza, and Evo III for 4wd turbo teaching)

so i basically have until the febuary 4th to come up with the entry fee or is there a cut off date for entry

The new web site will be up in a few days and you will be able to pay online
As for a cut-off, there has been no talk of one yet.

But to be on the safe side, I would not wait long.
Judging by the overwhelming interest there has been already, I have a feeling they will have to set a cap on the driver count.
I would make sure my name is on that list!

sweet, I'm in. This is a steel too considering they normally charge $725 for the level 1 course. It sucks the first day is in a fwd car though. I wonder what the % of people they will invite back is.
