Racing seat reviews? Which is your favorite?

Ok, so I'm in the market for a racing seat. My question to you all is, what kind of seat do you have? How do you like it? And what size waist are you, and how do you think your seat works for your size?

I've been mainly looking into Status seats and Sparco seats, so if anyone has any reviews/recommendations regarding those brands that would be awesome! But I'm open to other brands as well as long as they are FIA approved.

I haven't had the opportunity to sit in many seats so if anyone knows of a place that has seats in stock that I could sit in and try out, that would be helpful also. Since I haven't found any seats aimed towards fitting women yet, I'm having trouble deciding which I think would fit me the best. (I have to deal with those things called hips lol)

for OEM style, go R32 GTR all day, or R33 GTR, but they're the same with with some red stiching and an assload more on the wallet...

have you not sat in my bride? it's great, holds well, but might be a little snug for "hips"... mine's a Zeta II, the Zeta III's are a bit wider as the II's catered to skinny hipster trendy faggots i guess (no, I'm not a trendy hipster faggot)...

as for others? i cannot say, i rode in Alex Shlagels corbaus or whatever they are, didn't like em at all, too fucking big... rode along with a set of Sparco Evos, those were REALLY nice, but still a little loose for me (i'm a smaller guy, and they were like a "smedium"

i would say go "test" fit some seats, see what you like best, what one likes, another hates, and all seats have different designs that curve to your body... like my R32 GTR seats, they were so right, it's like they were custom fitted to me, the zeta II is the same, but a little more snug in the shoulders...

if you're going all out, i'd say get a custom aluminum seat made to your body, they can run a bit $$$, but if you want something designed for YOU, and safe as shit, go that route... i forget which company makes em, but they have all sorts of options, and you can have a one off "kelsey" seat that will fit you like no other...

just my $0.02.

Corbeau fX1 pro I love mine, it's husky sized and if you need a tub-a-lard size seat they make a fx1pro wide and there fair price. Only other seat I've sat in that I liked were buddy club there tight work as well

i bought an omp wrc xl im a 40 waist and i love it.

Here are some main ??? you need to ask yourself before buying a seat.
1 Does the seat need a safety rating
2 A fiberglass shell seat is way better than a steel tube seat. So you need to pick a design.
3 chassis mounting what size seat will fit in what chassis. S chassis have alot of room many other cars don't.

If you dont need fia rating then corbeau makes a nice seat. If you do need fia. Go to the next major event and go seat shopping. Just ask drivers to sit in there seats. Its the best way to test a wide variety of seats.

I have the Omp wrc seat I'm a 30 waist and I have a bit of room in it but it's still very snug. Has very high side bolster so i feel much more secure in the seat than anything else I have ever sat in. If you ever come down to pbir there is a shop about ten minutes from the track that has a ton of seats in stock that you can sit in.

My girl friend fits in it great but she doesn't have much in the way of hips (we are trendy hipster faggots)

thanks for the suggestions so far. I do want FIA approved in case I eventually get good enough to do pro am (yea, longshot I know) or in case I eventually sell the car and let the seat go with it at least it will be a legit seat for anyone else who wants to go that route.

I've looked into a custom aluminum one, but they are not FIA approved. And then if its completely custom to me, my dad (mechanic LOL) won't be able to fit in it in case he needs to drive the car for any reason.

I run into the issue of, I have a 28 inch "true waist" but then I have a 36 inch hip... lol. I've sat in some seats of guys who have a 32-34 inch waist and fit snug in their seats, and they have felt pretty good to me, but all the brands are slightly different so its hard to say unless I sit in and order the exact seat.

I know there is a shop in Jupiter that has seats I could sit in, I'm just not sure if I want to make the 3 hour trip there and then three hours back yet...

the only problem with buying a fia seat NOW is that they do expire. Say you buy a seat now and you go pro am in 1-2 yrs and then the seat expires and you have to buy a new one anyway. My suggestion is hold off, buy a cheap used seat, then when your ready for fd you can buy your legal stuff, plus you have to buy a buncha other legal stuff too that expires just ask bill he just dropped 1800 just to drive pbir.

I've sat in alot of Brides, Sparcos, Recaros, Corbeaus, and some COBRAS. I gotta say COBRA/SPARCO/RECARO are my favorite. Recaro pole position is perfect and im 5'11'' 140

The stuff expires after like, 5 years. I'm planning on buying them new so that shouldn't matter too much.

I have a Sparco Pro2000 and I have like a 31" waist. Next time my car is at the track you're welcome to try it out.

Have you sat in a Vios III? I know the Vios III is Low Max but it looks almost identical to the Zeta III. If so, could you tell me the differences?]

I've also been looking into Status seats, but I'm leaning more towards Bride.

Personally I've sat in a few seats, and I honestly dig Brides (zeta III) I'm like 5'3 130lbs, so tiny seats are best for me, but lately I've taken an interest in Status seats, they seem really legit, but anyways I say for now just find something cheap (but safe) that fits, and from there if you go pro sell the cheap seat with the car and whatnot
