can anyone tell me if i need these two lines running from the headers. ive been trying to take the engine out but one of the lines is under the steering column and the other one runs to the other side of the engine. if i cut them and i dont connect them back on my new engine will it affect anything or are they not important..

they forgot to connect that (top) one when they put the head back together. when it wasnt on, it sounded as if i had a rod knock until about 3000RPM. once they put it back on, the "rod knock" SOUND stopped. id put it back on just to be safe. my car ran fine but the noise it did made my car sound like (spanish) un cacharo lol

i took it all off.. its for emissions.. never had any sounds.. but MAKE SURE if you have anything running off your header to seal it closed well..

the one running to the other side of your engine should be a the line for the egr valve. egr controls emissions and helps lowers combustion temps, overall not important.
