Question? for 240sx Owners, S13, S14, n S15s , Drop a post thnks.

what the hell are you talking about man? coilovers are only as good as you are willing to spend. basically anything over 1500 buck is gonna be a good quality coilover. SPL makes good quality stuff like arms and bushings but they are expensive. it all comes down to how much youre willing to spend

been rocking megans for bout 3 yrs never had a problem with them imo....n there da best bang for your buck

alright guys good point about the coil overs for that i will have to come out with some real cash.. .

i will start to look for LSD 1st.

what would you guys suggest about a great LSD for S14. which ones are the best outthere.

best out there is the OS giken unit but i doubt you want to pay 1400 bucks for one, Kaaz works great, Tomei is supposedly the exact same thing as a Kaaz, Nismo GT lsd is good too. Those are all around 800 bucks

first of all your best mod is going to be a daily driver...buy a 800 dollar civic or corolla or something to get you around in case your working on your car, break something, or just dont want to drive around in a stiff, loud, hot etc. car which gets attention from police all the time..Trust me.

as far as mods go i say if your just getting into drifting a 1000+ coilover kit is not going to make you any better than some used good condition megans, isis, d2 etc etc ....there are plenty of semi-pros and some pros using megan, isis, and BC. I personnally love my Stance gr + pro but...... Skill>mods.

if you do really well and outgrow your coilovers you can always upgrade latter.

id say stay away from ebay coilover sleeves and probly tein basics. everything else would be good enough for learning.

as far as a diff id say weld it but you might get tired of it therefore you should get another car for a daily.(as previously stated). if its your only car and you dont want to weld it then just get a j30 or keep the open and swap in the welded for events...with practice you can swap them in about 45 minutes.

on an s chassis id also suggest getting some inner and outer tie rods w/ extended spacers...stock angle is sooo limited. and make sure you do maintenance to you car as well as mods...i know too many people who mod up their cars while they have leaks, worn bushings overheating etc. but think they're cool cause they bought an exhaust.

there is a reality that if you are going to drift your probly going to crash or break something so consider if this is a sport you want to pursue with your new car.

learn your car, drive it, go to events...the rest will follow. Good luck

Hi you are right man, i was thinking to purchase a cheap ass toyota tercel 1992-1994 w/ 2 doors, 4spd, 1.5liters, to get me around to work while im working on my S14 .

yet again. im not into a big rush upgrading everything. so i will take my time. and i will try to do a 1 time expenses.

I have 1 guy that has a Nismo LSD its used and in good condition he says. he is willing to sell it to me for 350. i dont know im thinking about it.

best out there is the OS giken unit but i doubt you want to pay 1400 bucks for one, Kaaz works great, Tomei is supposedly the exact same thing as a Kaaz, Nismo GT lsd is good too. Those are all around 800 bucks

Yeah, have 1 guy that has a Nismo LSD 2 way i believe not sure. but he says is in good condition and he is asking about $350 for it. $390 to get it install and everything.

I was thinking in KAAZ or Cusco, but damm cost pretty high, Nismo LSD i will ask him if thats a 2 way forgot to ask him about it.

any tips how can i make sure the Nismo LSD its in good condition at least. let me know guys thanks.

Also for brake calipers gonna try to get 2x brake calipers from the 300ZX dual piston guy/ seller says it comes with the steel braided brake lines, brake pads. and bolts right up. for the front tires. what you guys think , he says no leaks no rust no damages im gonna check it out .

accually piner, the s14 is the widest of all s-chassis. i know bc i took automotive design class in college. and i wanted to design a new "silvia" so i had to get all measurment specs of all s-chassis and came to find out s14's are the widest.

Width is measured from sideview mirror to sideview mirror, so essentially width is not important with regard to Piner's suggestion of rear track. However, he was still wrong haha. The s14 and s15 subframes are exactly the same - their rear track is identical. :p

To the OP, id go s13. I think they're better and I'd rather have one.

regardless of what you hear the fact remains u can find aftermarket parts for any chassi of any make in any country period parts are every where and i personaly am a 240 lover but honestly thy are every where now but me personaly love all RWD so just fallow ur heart to me a s13 coupe is sexy as hell even tho it looks like a door wedge when its droped n the s14 looks like a bubble... lol do what u thinks best for bro n fallow your heart n what pleases your eyes... you can get as technical as you want about width track n suspension travel n articulation n steering angel but point being if you want it it can happen you can make almost any car do any thing but 240's are a very easy chassi to learn how to slide off of.. ask that question becouse if ur looking to learn pick a s chassi

welded diff in orlando sucks, so many uturns my new tires are getting killed.
but your getting an lsd any way thats besides the point, but instead of upgrading so much you should start sliding once you have a lsd the car slides great stock start spending some money on some good tires up front and then get some used tires to shred on a weekly basis.
