Proper Engine Break in? My new Build - Need Help!

ask a known and proven tuner what you should do If you have any questions, chris speed and ems andre are very good, and know what to do and tune for. they are the tuners I have seen the most, Im sure there are others.
 
Make sure you are able to build oil pressure before you start the engine for the first time, or any time after you have disassembled an engine or reinstalling a turbocharger. Pull fuel pump fuse or unplug CAS or take coils off \ unplug spark plug wires, do something to stop it from running. Crank until oil pressure light turns off. Reinstall fuel pump fuse and hope for the best. lol

You should use some kind of assembly lube on brand new camshafts, if you have nothing and dont want to buy it. At least make sure they are wet with oil before you start the engine.

PFC's are easy to work with. Any good engine tuner should be able to figure them out. I was having weird issues w/ my PFC in my last car which is why I was looking for a PFC savy guy. You should really invest in a datalogit or maybe you can offer kyle $50 or something to borrow his for a bit. It makes tuning pfc's that much easier and you can tap into more parameters than the commander allows. Apexi created the commander to serve as a monitor first and give the end user the ability to make some changes in predefined increments (iirc, in values of 5). Only authorized tuners (i don't think there is even one in FL) have access to the actual Apexi tuning software (which is encrypted and cannot be...well has not been...cracked for end user use). The datalogit was created to give you FULL control of your PFC without relying on authorized dealers and you have datalogging capabilities. You can wire your wideband directly into it as well.
 
^^ Hey someone told me that the datalogit software is actually a hack not backed by Apex-i - Also said if I were to "crack" my pfc apexi would no longer stand by it or be able to work on it? Any truth to that? Any alternatives? What does jordan use?
 
Datalogit doesn't do anything to the pfc. Its a box that intercepts the signal and lets you tap into the pfc. I doesn't change it in any way though. Whoever told you that has no idea what they're talking about.

-As stated before he tuned Kyle's Kouki, he also tuned many other cars for Drag. ASk him about his Fuel Economy Tune. Built S14 SR Orlando to Broward with enough gas to make the trip again.

Crispeed - find his contact info through Supraforums(HE is always on there)
-Amazing tuner! He is well known for his expertise. Could be $$$ tho. Worth a call/PM.

Thanks - I spoke to Jordan On saturday - Im pretty set on him tunning it - Ive heard nothing but good things about his work and he is local. Thanks for the info Zak
