this petition is for them to have a strip of land were we can all race.. idk about u but this sounds like an awsome idea.. i love racing but when it comes to the street it can get very dangerius and numerous young people die daily due to it..i would love to go to a track but moroso is about 2 hours away.. This petition is written to persuade the board of Broward County to set aside land and build a strip where legal drag-racing can occur.. we need at least 3500 signatures for them to consider this. please pass on and sign

Thats what I was thinkin but didnt want to jack his thread. Im gonna sign this and then I think someone should make a petition for some land to build a track.
 
good luck with this, you could have 6 mabascrillion signatures and this wont get nowhere.
 
thanks for the feed back guys..this is how moroso got built..this isnt some joke if this realy goes throu then it will happen. they just said we at least need 3500 signatures and then it can go into effect

Anyway.. its a cool idea, but politicians..the city. they could give a flying rats ass unless if it were some benifit to them.

Is there a sponser/developer/rich person to pay for it all all ready lined up to go? Or is this just a Petition to Lobby it infront of the county and not have them imediantly laugh you out?

Now for reality:
Even is 3500 people sign:
-WHO WILL PAY TO BUILD THE TRACK?
-WHERE IS THERE AN OPEN PLACE IN BROWARD COUNTY THAT IS NOT BEING SOUGHT AFTER BY A BIG NAME DVELOPER?
-FOR EVERYONE KID/GUY/GIRL/MAN/WOMAN THAT SIGNS IN FAVOR IMAGINE THE AMOUNT WHO WILL BE AGAINST IT.
Just think about how hardocre they fought the WAL MART in Miramar... Why woudl they want a noisey track next to the house?

Those are just my opinions.
 
Since I'm a Government employee let me give you guys a few reasons why this is never going to happen.

Well for one obvious reason is liability. If the state/county/city legalized a road for street racing they would be liable for any incidents that occur at that location, not to mention insurance would cost out the wazoo. Yea people who race would probably sign some lengthy waiver or whatever if they did make such a place (Which will never happen) but any spectator or bistandard that gets injured doesnt sign the waiver and would be enough to close the location.

As mentioned before, noise pollution, cost of maintenance would be another reason why they wouldn't do it.

And just so you guys know their already is legalized drag strip for you guys to race at, its called Moroso.
 
yea it's a good idea but you have to think it all comes down to the ones who are against it... Since the majority of people who vote are old people in Fl I'm pretty sure they don't want to hear the sound of a bunch of cars racing up and down the street all day-night long... Iknow I get tired of hearing those fucks race up and down the turnpike .. It all comes down to zoning.. And trust me not a single city in broward has a zone agreement to put up a racetrack. y do you think moroso is where it is in the middle of nowhere beside an airport (--- see zoning.... y don't you bring this idea to homestead racyway and see what they can do about it... this way you'll have moroso up north and homestead downsouth... plus they'll benifit from the track just like moroso holding big events... Take it to the Track and save lives...
