Peters no longer Nopi Head Judge

Mike Peters stated in a statement today that he will be stepping down from NOPI drift as a judge and licensing coordinator. "At this point in time, I believe that NOPI does not want to invest money into hiring the proper personnel to run a top-level drift series". Stemming from the first event of the season in Moroso and after numerous discussions with the NOPI Drift staff since then, Peters feels that this is the only option at this point in time.

After the Moroso event, Peters took a lot of blame for the chaos and confusion at the event,and doesn't feel that the problem is being rectified. Mike Peters departure leaves only Matt Petty and Rob Fleming. With NOPI Drift's 2nd round of competition set to take place this coming Saturday in St Louis, Missouri. We may not see a 3rd Judge in time, let alone if they even replace Mike.

I stepped down today as head judgeroony guy. Moroso was a disaster and Rob Matt and myself tried our best, but I had a recent family issue I’d rather not discuss and I can’t focus as much time/energy at or between events anymore to do my job properly, so after talking with Mike/Glenn about stuff I’ve stepped down. I’ll probably be helping out/driving in the Nopi Drift scene in one way or another LATER this year but for the next couple months I’ll probably be MIA till around Ohio/Utah timeframe. I still have time to help do some legwork on Qualifiers but the Big Kid event’s right now I’m out.
Anyways just wanted to pass that around so my phone isn’t ringing at 3am (TCOX THAT MEANS YOU!!!)
I don’t know who the 3rd judge will be at STL. Working on a couple options and as soon as somoene figures it out I/They’ll let you know.

holy shit.....he stepped down!! Why make yourself step down when you can prove them wrong....giving up is gay!
 
I'm trying to figure out the best way to put this...

The haters didn't get to me, it was more or less the lack of forward motion to solve any of the new problems that were made blatantly apparent and Moroso (Mostly important, needing more staff). Nopi hiring a new Operations Director type person for drift and a couple other staff members needs to be their next move, if/when that happens is gonna be the make or break deal for them. STL will work out okay as the judges *should* have the resources to mostly be able to do their job.

Honestly this came down to I can't take the stress/headache that comes with this job, it is above and beyond what I signed up for. And due to some off track stuff I genuinely do not have the time to dedicate that I feel is needed for the series to run at it's best, so I pulled out. I'm really glad they took my reccomendation for a temp. judge (boxmod) because we tossed around some ideas that honestly scared me.

Nopi is trying though, just how much they are willing to put into the series is gonna make a huge influence on what comes out of the series once all the dust settles.

GL to everyone involved, I'll be back out and about towards end of summer, I've really got some stuff I need to take care of before I can even think about doing anything besides local events.

Also keep this on here. I'm kinda posting on here b/c I know some of you guys, and I've heard some of the BS flying around. I really don't give two shits about my e-cred (as I'm sure most of you are familiar) but I do care about being a straight shooter, which also tends to piss off some people. Whatever, I just kinda wanted to elaborate a slight bit on the subject.

I told everyone my phone is always on, and honestly that post that I made that Zoltan posted was suppost to stay between me and the drivers, I was trying to avoid E-drama but I just wanted the drivers to know up front. But before Moroso I was keeping tabs on everyone best I could and as someone who's been driving and failing at building cars for a couple years I know sometimes at 3am you'll have a question, and I'm fine with that. It was more or less a joke directed at Tyler Cox who'd always call me between 3-4am about something silly. I didn't mind, it was slightly entertaining because its Tcox.

What post that Zoltan posted??? I hope you haven't confused him with me. Zole hardly ever posts on any board, and when he does his user name is either "Zole" or "ZoleKA". If you could elaborate that would be great.

No just the fact that the drivers forum password was the easiest thing in the world to get through. I don't post there, just like to see what's going on.
