Paving has started at Moroso

Yea I'm pretty sure, but if you look on the map, the yellow things are gonna be special safety barriers designed to catch cars and slow them before eating the tires.

The banking on the big sweper is gonna make that a 100mph turn roadracing, prolly 80mph entry for drifting and 90-100 exit speed. Definitely not 4AG friendly.... lol

Not 4AG friendly? My ass. Ever heard of nitrous? :D

Ok, maybe I wont be 4AG for very long after I come back, but I will have some snail power coming from my Nissan friends. :bigthumbu

any idea what turns they will be useing for drifting?

Most likely any turn we want. Renting the track means we can use it all, and between the skidpad, the big culdesac-like turn, the chicane the rear section, and the practice area on the straight, we could have like 5 layouts all in 1 event.

I hope we can start hosting practices where we can just run the entire track continuously.

Thats my dream one day.

There's really 2 problems,

1, it depends on insurance regulations.

2, a lot of people who drift/attempt dont really have a concept of car-control, and/or self-control. They initiate hard, then over-correct, then lockup brakes and go off track and dig trenches with their 4wheel locked tires going sideways through the nice new grass...

Or they always drive like they are in competition where maintaining the drift is more important than not destroying the track...etc etc

If we ever do it it's gonna be drilled into everyones head how fast they are gonna get demoted to the skidpad for demonstrating stupid driving.

Moroso is transforming itself into a country-club racetrack, and they are gonna attract the local big-baller Porsche Ferrari Lambo BMW Audi MB crowd. Of course those guys all want to have a nice playground and you can bet they have more pull than the drifters do. So when we go back to Moroso we all need to be conscious of this and respect the place. If we play nice I'm sure things will go in the right direction.

I wish we could do hot lap. There shouldn't be a problem being that the more experienced drivers are going to be on the road course anyways. It would be nice but I doubt it will happen.

more

Most of the pictures that i have posted have been of the drag strip. Now it is the Road Course's turn. The first layer of asphalt has been put down. I took these this late this afternoon/early evening.

A lap around the track
