ok so the god damn stoopid ass motha fuckin wheel stud decided to break free from the hub(only way i can describe it) and the lug nut is still on it. and the fuckin wheel is still on the car so it makes it even more of a bitch to find out how to take the lug nut off. ok so heres my question. How do i take the lug nut off the stud that is moving with the lug nut off when the wheel is still attached? fuck autofailzone studs they can suck my dick they break so easliy shitty ass shit made im goin nismo or some shit. seriously, like iv broken so many of these studs im sick of it. im doing it right and even torqing it so dont give me that ur not doin it right bullshit i have all autozone studs on my car its fine IDC. lol paragraph writin when im pissed is hard to read so bare with me plz.

when u take off a lugnut the stud is usually straight like this - so what u wanna do is simply put the stud at an angle since its loose and just unscrew it. lets say this ( | ) is the "wheel" and this ( - ) is the stud..simply push down lightly so the stud is at an angle so it grips. so instead of doing it normal like this |- u wanna do it like this |\ lol its kinda hard to explain online. but yea hope u get it

^^ I think is what he's trying tosay is take a bottle Jack and put it on the inside of therim and Jack it from the chassis to rim kinda like if you
were just trying to snap the stud and on theopposite side of the broken stud jamming the stud from spinning. -- it works I have done it

Or get a drill and bit and some oil and drill the center out till it pops
also done this lol

thats what i had to do

my advice just take it to a shop so they fix it once and for all. you are having way too much headaches.. it might not even be your fault.

How the fuck can you install a stud wrong?? I dont think there is a way, lol. As far as taking it out, jack up, LOOSEN all the lug nuts other then the broken one. Put the socket on the nut. Drop the car and see if there is enough weight to keep the stud from spinning. If not, Im sure you would have to drill it out.

I dont get how you guys are breaking studs, I have autozone/advance/napa studs in my car. 16 of them, with slip on spacers. Never broken one, I dont understand....

the wierd thing is that its not very loose, i acutally have to use quit a bit of my strenght to loosen it just with the socket on it.

honestly I have no god damn clue lol. but they all break where the lug nut is on the stud so that means the quality of the stud. maybe different autozone's get from different manufactures. this one says M on beginning of the stud... thanks guys

do a burn out till it breaks... thats what they do...

i was thinkin bout that but i dont want a wheel drop

bought some circuit sport extended for the rear so hopefully im done with the god damn shit lol. u guys think i should get them welded in the hub?

I wouldnt because what if you really do need to change them? Then you have a tack weld to knock off. Just make sure all the stud holes are clean and not fucked up and see if you can get a good lock with the new studs. If not, it might be your hub thats fucked.

should i spray or put something in the holes when i put the good studs in?

Engine cleaner maybe and a rag. Make sure there's no rust. If the holes are rusted out then they are prolly going to be oblonged or something, and they may not be seating right and that could be causeing the weakness of the stud. But without seeing it i couldnt tell you. Shit, even if I do see it i prolly couldnt tell you. lol. Are your hubs new?

wooooooo thanks for all the ppl who chimed in i really apriciate it. and the hubs arnt new. i had the same problem on my old hub, same side too.

haha beautiful. Now you say the hub is original? I see where the stud broke, if you look closely it looks like the stud bent over the brake rotor, so it looks like there is some space letting the stud lean on the rotor and then its snapping. From the looks of it, I think it's either your hub holes are oblonged or over rounded or the nut is loose or not seating properly. I suggest taking the hub off completely and fully check it out. See what the deal is.

Also I just had a thought, how is your wheel bearing? Could be causing extra stress on the stud, but thats just a long shot thought. Something to think about.
