Where do i start. When i first went to change my oil the dude told me there was a leak on my Oil Pan Seal. About 4 months later (now) my car is starting to leak oil, from the oil pan seal i suppose. So i took the car to some mechanic and he's telling me that to replace that, im going to Remove the motor to change the seal. In total it was said would come out to about 600 bones. But i need that God damn money to do the 5 speed swap in Kendall. Well i just need to know if thats true and if it has happened to anyone else, please let me know what they did to fix teh problem. Thank you all! :bigthumbu

take the motor out???? you know what now that i think about it i havent done this in a 240sx ka, only in an altima, and i didnt need to take the motor out. but if you look underneath see if the lower oil pan can slide out or not. also you have to figure if its the upper or lower pan. gl i just cant remeber if it will slip though with out taking the cross memeber off, even then you could hold the motor up with a hoist and work underneath it. thats how i have done it.

also make sure while the motor is out to just replace both upper and lower seals, cause there is no point in just doing one and not the other. trust me.

Thank you Devil. I think I'll just wait cause I've worked this whole summer just for this 5-speed swap. So I'll just wait and ride around with some with oil in the car. Thank you guys

Loosen the tranny mount and the two engine mounts, and disconnect the upper radiator hose. Then loosen all the ten milimeter bolts. After the pan is dropped your going to have unbolt the oil pick up in that little space and then you can pull the pan out. You could probably just loosen the brackets on the sway bar and just push it down but I haven't tried it yet. Its not really easy but it is not so rediculous like the mechanic says.
