and who are we to thank for that? Bush completely wrecked shit. Most of the choices are a response to the current situation to try and get us out of the mess left for the next president.
both parties had fucked views and good views. McCains speech was incredible, yet he still had HIS SUPPORTERS booing him at the very mention of Obamas name.......
Bush didnt completely wreck shit, it's always odd how people forget that this country is run by many people working together, it's called an administration, and congress.
I personally think Bush made many mistakes, and to be honest he wasnt qualified for the the presidency in the first place.
Bush himself didnt wreck everything, even though he's an idiot and a piece of garbage.
Obama isn't likely to fix anything though either.
well now that he won the patriotic thing to do is support him while he gives his Emmy award speech lol..... seriusly lets support him he is not a dictator in 4 years if he didnt do it right just pick another one
Why do so many Americans think it is unpatriotic if you dont support the president??!?!?!
Wanting the best for my country is more patriotic than anything.
I was leaning Obama but then decided not to vote because I dont care for McCains conservative social views, nor do I want his barbie-doll VP becoming president when he kicks the bucket. If I had a time machine I would go back to 2000 and vote McCain in the primary when I was a registered republican.
But then again this bi-partisan primary non-sense is complete bullshit. There should be an open primary and anyone who gets 10% of the popular vote in the primary gets to run for prez, and is allotted a set budget, which is monitored by an independent oversight group. Each candidate also would get a fixed equal number of prime time TV ad slots.
I didnt vote Obama because as much as I like his social promises, I think his economic policies will only worsen our current dilemma, and fear that he may be hiding a lot of his real agenda.
Turns out more than enough people voted Obama just because he is black, so he didn't need my vote anyway
then you didnt do shit to help your country, which makes you even more of a fuckup
That's a pretty dumbass thing to say.
I wanted Ron Paul. I was leaning Obama, but decided that neither candidate was really what the country needed.
The worst case scenarios of both administrations are pretty damn bad.
bro no bullshit but if I made 80k and you made 27k to support your family id be more than happy to help you out. Its the fucks that are gonna milk and abuse this that make it so wrong.
I call bullshit. I certainly wouldn't without a good reason, especially because the way the tax system works, the higher income people already contribute more to the system that provides to the poor anyway.
If my neighbor was a teacher, and a good teacher, and needed help though, I would try to help because education is the single most important thing in the world, and teachers arent paid nearly enough.
Well he wasnt gonna put super libs in the courts, people who judge with empathy instead of the law, um he wasnt gonna try and pull us out of iraq in failure, he wasnt gonna negotiate with unfriendly regimes with no preconditions, he wasnt gonna bend at the wills of the unions (which im a part of btw ), he wasnt gonna redistribute peoples hard earned money, um thats all i can think of tj its late lol
Presidents don't have the power to just changed the justices of the SC. But G W Bush got the opportunity to pick justices more than any other president in history, and seriously tried to sway the court conservatively. Luckily he mis-judged one of his choices and we still have a fairly balanced SupremeCourt.
I think Iraq is a failure already, whether we leave now or in 3 years, it's a failure. But I do think that if we can actually help the country stabilize and train their police and military to control the country, then it is worth staying to avoid having a future problem to deal with. Fact is, most Iraqi's resent the very presence of a foriegn military in ther country. Just as we would most likely resent the EU liberating the USA from a tyrannical leader by bombing us to hell, killing millions of our citizens and then occupying our country to retrain our police to control us 'properly'. Think about it.
And whats wrong with meeting with leaders of other countries to discuss real concerns????? NOTHING. If nothing gets accomplished, then nothing has changed except that at least a little bit of diplomacy was executed and maybe some credibility given to the American view.
