i got an 90 240 with a 91 dual cam and theres noise comming from the valve cover i know theres a thing thats supposed to be removed to stop that noise or the timming chain or something well whatever....i need to know how to fix,and what parts to buy the noise is only there when im at idle and goes away when i accelerate....suggestions....???
 
Make sure you set the engine on tdc with piston no. 1. After that remove the valve cover and the front timing cover and remove the top and side timing guide. Make sure you put the distributor the same way you put it in. The point of the rotor should point directly at the number one point on the cap.
 
and um...this is a really dumb question but ....how do you bleed the clutch! its so annoying having to kick it up! pictures are usually nice but not nessasary
 
the NISSAN manual says remove and discard the top guide and replace the guid on the side and while your doing this you pretty much have to change the tensioner or it will still slightly make noise and or come back ....in outher words chnge the tensioner and the side guide and just throw away the top guide...............the reason they tell you to throw it out and not replace it is because they found out it breaks off to easily and destroys your motor ...ive seen about 6 diffrent ka's that were completely destroyed because of this guide..im talking broken cams though the vaulve cover and all kinds of destruction all because of that damn guide so TAKE IT OUT and replace the outhers things i mentioned
