one of my rear calipers keeps getting stuck. what i want to know is, how hard is it to drift without using ebrake? its a miata so it doesnt have problems understeering. so do you guys think gas, brakes, and clutch kick would be enough?

ive never iniated with the ebrake... clutch kick, weight transfer, or shift lock

u will need the ebrake to do the u-turn at countyline.....it can be done without but if u wanna keep the mustard goin u will use it........i was tryin to use the ebake myself last weekend i need to improve mine also

Man up, build speed (sacrifice angle if you don't have a lot of power), lock all 4 brakes, drop 1st, rotate, up 2nd, get ready to switch back for sweeper. :) At no point in this process should you lift the gas. Not even while shifting.

But more on topic: Fairly close to stock miatas will hardly ever use an ebrake initiation though. You really cannot sacrifice speed on those cars. To keep a drift going, you'll have to sacrifice angle much before you sacrifice speed.

Just practice the basics. Once you get the hang of that, try to keep the foot down for as much as you can consciously remember. :bigthumbu

pretty much weld your right foot to the floor and kick that clutch like it insulted your mother

RWDrift pretty much told you exactly what you need to do. Underpowered cars are fun man. You just need to be aggressive, and throw the car around to get a good feeling of what the car is doing.

The drift king himself speaks.......

well you should fix your calipers in the long run, an ebrake is a nice thing to have as an option. I find myself using it more and more lately.

i drove for a long time with a broken cable but yea get it fixed. the extra set of techniques you can use it for are needed and if you dont get it soon, youll be having to catch up on the skills later. besides without it you cant enter at all in FD :D

have fun at skidpad tho
