New Grip tires

hell yeah, handling in a truck comes at a price.when i bought toyos, now THAT was fun 200 a pop,and they were worse than those 245 45 18 hankooks for grip anyway they last longer though, good for the back.if you wanna drift...

I was using these bad boys this past weekend at the Ter-Tech competition...usually I'll understeer once or twice at an event but with these tires, I didn't understeer once. I kept pushing harder and the tires kept gripping better. Bottom line, I love em. 215/45/17 on an 8" wide rim (front only).

That edgeracing place has tons of them and their prices are good. Nice guys too. I didn't even know they existed until this thread, so thanks guys!!!

Back on topic: i just bought 2 225 50 16 rs-2's, the only other front tire ive used were crappy 205-225 55 16 all season passenger tires. my review, simply amazing. I normally feel the car lighen up when i hit standing water at 45mph, these tires on the front stayed attached to the road and didnt hint any bit of hydroplaning. Ive purposly tried to understeer these tires, and its very very hard to do, they just track and dont think about doing anything else. Sidewall flex \ roll over is very very minimal @ 35 psi. I have not experimented with chaulk and different tire pressures yet for optimum performance.

Dori Dori, ya think you could provide a review of your experiances with the falken st115's the yokohama es100's and these tires? Would you feel a particular tire is more predictable or better suited for front or rear use when fine tuning your grip \ drift setup?

the new falkens soposably have fixed the problem the old azenis had with hydroplaning and water traction.....the yokohama AVS ES100's have AWESOME grip and good water traction....RS-2's good all around grip tire....i would choose the hankooks or the yoko's, but yes im biased because i DISLIKE falken.....Again these are my opinions from ME testing them and also other peoples opinions from them driving them also.

The azenis are fuccin doe compared to the hankooks...i think dollar for dollar the RS2s are the best tire you can buy, they really made a big difference at DDay

ES100's are some of the worst tires I've ever used. After they heat up, they don't grip AT ALL. I was fooled by moderate street driving, but after dday5 I realized how much they suck. ST115's were awesome all around. RS2's are a completely different class since they are "summer only" tires. Azenis sport's problem was the same as ES100's...they don't take to heat. It's because of the scilica content.

thats why @ the auto x we carry the little spray bottles filled with water.

I have driven both the RT-615s and the ES100s, and the ES100s are overwhelmingly better. However my experience with them was quite different than Anthony's.

I never had a problem with my ES100s, granted at that time I did not push my car that much. However I've seen ES100s on other cars and I still cannot see any reason why they would not be ideal cars.

The RT-615s had a horrible problem gripping in the beggining. It seemed like it needed a couple of turns to warm up before it would grip. You'd fight understeer in a lap in Ocala and your second lap would be much better. I've also watched another car with RT-615s in the front and I saw the same pattern... on two different days and two different locations.

I wouldnt call my experience with them enough to call this accurate.... just saying what I've experienced.

ES100's can't take the heat. Their dry grip level isn't even close to that of an RT615. There are plenty of resources on the web that can give you the "hard facts". I don't even know why anyone would want to compare the two since they are meant to serve entirely different purposes. Bleh.
