never knew the reason to this...

so is it that the 240sx is the most widely known drifter? SR20s push out power but why is it they drift along side the AE86 when the 4AGE is so much weaker..is it just personal preference or is there ACTUALLY a reason??

Ask yourself who has more skill the person with power or the person without power when you see them side by side.

Because they are like Hondas but they are RWD. The after market support is so stupidly large for them then why not? You can swap damn near ANY motor into the thing and they make so many little after market peices for it that it is by far the cheapest and easiest to build. Thats why im on my 4th one...

240s are more frequent cause of the sheer available numbers as well... seach corollas as opposed to the silvia chassis...

lol..wow...well im thinkin about buyin a 240 to get into the drifting scene...but i have a SC400 right now and im afriad i might be downgrading...but doing a 1jz or 2jz swap would be out of the question so i jus wanna trade for a nice 240....should i or should i just work with the lex?

but maintaining it is pain in the ass....i have a 91 cressida with a (obviously) blown 7mge..im thinking if i can sell that i can possibly do a manual 1jz/r154 swap for drifting or auto 2jz for DD...

Hmm. . .Why don't you keep one as a daily and the other as a drift project? To build a 4door drift would be nice :bigthumbu.

the 240sx is the easy button for drifting. The car slides relativly very easy and is a very forgiving car. You don't have to be perfect with your imputs to get results. Most other cars are much more demanding and unforgiving when you try to hold a drift for any period of time.

Hell my E36 isn't quite as easy and idiot proof at drifting as an S13/S14 and I've got power and suspension and really its a pretty well setup car, and I have to be more precise than I would have to be in an S13 to get the same results.

Also the amount of parts availible is another reason, also they are cheap, and the other thing is that there are tons of them in junkyards all over the country to scam parts off of when you wreck because YOU WILL WRECK its not a question of IF its WHEN

lol..well now im thinking i should just go the 1jz or 2jz route...thanks for all your opinion guys!!!:bigthumbu...now i just have to find out which car i should do the swap in...i think i might jus go with the sc

nut wouldnt it be easier to just sell the blown cressy for a soarer 1jz and jus drop that in??

Easier is not fun ;).

You made me do this. . .
4dr drift car ftw :bigthumbu
