Nakamura banned from D1GP/D1SL

that does seem a little extreme to me. Other series drivers, even the higher end racing cars I dont seem them banning a driver from competing. I mean look at Vick, what he did was pretty outrageous and he still plays football.

street skating is not going to result in any bystander getting killed.

i broke an old ladies ankle one time....
i was kickfliping this 8 stair, landed it, and then slid out, board went straight into the old bitches ankle.

she fell down, and could have had a heart attack.............

...yeah i was gonna say what if someone walks in front of you while you're board sliding a stair case. I think i'd want to kill myself if i got decked in the face at the bottom of 20 stairs

or what about the guy who robs the store with a gun, i mean, he didnt shoot anyone, he just took the money.

same logic right?

how about he represents a BRAND name in professional drifitng. the D1 name. If michael jordan went on a spree and raped 5 women, i guarantee Hanes would not shoot a commercial with a "Comfort Rape Tshirt". They would cut ties with him.

I guess what youre trying to say is that he was under a contract with D1. As a driver he represents them and what he did is not up to D1s moral standarts, therefore he got banned no matter how bad street drifting may seem to people. For example: Poloroid dropped the sponsorship for Nick Hogan right after the crash cause they said he was street racing, Poloroid didnt wanna do a commercial with cars endangering lives out on the street while you take a snap shot so they didnt want to have him represent them..

..and street drifting is not all that bad and illegal unless youre being a bumbass about it, after all drifting originated on the streets..

Nakamura street drifting is like Bret Farve sending pictures of his dick to chicks. Slap on the wrist and let him be. Dont fucking suspend the dude. Epically in a time where D1 isn't looking so good.

wait, did you just say street drifting isnt all that illegal if you arnt being a dumbass?

hahaha. holy crap

I never knew.

It has nothing to do with how bad you think street drifting is. Its all about image. All the kids who wanna be just like him, a pro drifter, will think "oh! He practices in the street! I will too!" and its those dumb fuck kids who cause the trouble. If they allowed him to continue and compete in D1, its like telling the kids that street drifting is what the pros do, and will get you into D1. However, banning him will say hey kids, if you street slide, you'll never be like us.

Its really all about controlling other people from street sliding. Not just Nakamura. They may un-ban him later on in the future, but its all to promote a good image for the sport of drifting.

as far as I remember they had a feeder series finding D1 drivers on the streets. Old ass Options video with D1 drivers all over it.

Wow this thread just proves how much Florida fails. I bet in his contract is stated no street drifting he broke the contract! Seems like a no brainer to me.

It's not like he hadn't gotten arrested for it before. The article said he was arrested again for the same shit. It's not like he never had a second chance. He fucked up one too many times. Kick ass driver though.

Exactly what I was saying! How hard is it to comprehend?

It's not hard to comprehend, but most of the points being made in this thread are pretty retarded.

"Yeah, fuck that guy, hang him, he street drifted!"

The day before:
"Check out this sweet street drift vid from Japan!"

+1 and peoples opinions isn't why Florida fails

Like I really don't care that D1 banned him. It's whatever, but people on a south Florida drifting forum don't need to get crazy justifying D1's actions.
