my (possibly new) aristo!!

um...gs300 never came in RHD and arent JDM...they're USDM...;)...and getting a getrag 6 tranny is FAR from cheap...im looking at $4,500 at LEAST...

You're a retard. If you wanted advice, or if you're new, don't act like a douche bag. By "5-speed", I meant r154 or whatever it is the cheap guys use. They can handle like 500whp or something like that. I don't see why you're so hyped on JDM anyway.

JLo I think you are wasting your breathe with this one, this kid is obviously 14 years old and dreaming of drifing a 3000+ lb sled. He probably drives a Festiva, which don't get me wrong is pretty RAD.

...:confused:ok forget about the the aristo...why da hell are people telling me to start off with 240s and others telling me to learn with wat i have...i mean im all up for hearing peoples advice but when people tell me different things to do its just confusing...

damn you!!!

btw 5 speed swap is not that expensive. ive seen swaps where they get the n/a 1j transmissions and just swap the bell housing and its completely driftable.

It's because you vacillate with everything you'll told, you're told you're a dumb ricer for wanting RHD sled (not untrue) when you already have two equally capable cars (when compared to the Aristo). FYI, Mark 4 Supra, Aristo/GS/SC are all the same car, they use the same suspension stuff, and can use the same drivetrain, it's just 1's a hatch, 1's a coupe, 1's a sedan.

So you hear get a 240 and you think you need an SR (also retarded), I've been running the same NAKA since I bought the car in 2000, sure it's a little under powered; but it's what I've learned on and I do better with it then scores of bandwagoneers with built SR's all day long. Because you know what, I'd rather hear, "He only has 100-something hp and he can link the whole course everytime," than, "He has 300-something hp and spins every turn," food for thought.

You come off like a semi-rich kid that wants to drift, you talk about cars and parts like they're free, and cheap. You'll find very quickly that buying wheels, tires, fluid changes, alignments, event fees, not to mention the shit you break and have to replace: suspension pieces/engines/etc. this sport is not gentle on a wallet. That's what you're missing, everyone is trying to give you cheaper alternatives because they already know.

Scenario: sell Cressy and use money for SC parts
Scenario: sell SC and use money for Cressy parts
Scenario: sell both and build a 240
Your scenario: sell both, buy a jzs, have nothing to show except a car w/steering wheel on wrong side

I would recommend A b/c cressies are kind of money pits, and SC stuff is fairly prevalent, and cressies need a lot of fab, or C since 240's are the new civics, parts are everywhere and they're easy to set up to drift.

Now, save the questions till you do something, these pipe dreams are wasting internetz...

i like this guy already!

Fa sho i can list you a million things of what i want on my car...and pfff a million more for my truck....but i put em in a journal..keep em to myself.

As for the ebrake thing lmao my ebrake sucks doesnt lock for shit only time i used it was late at night behind some stores i hauled ass(went through a minor puddle which i think helped) braked downshifted left clutch engaged and pulled the ebrake and did a 180 and then popped the clutch(in first gear). my friend was a good length behind said it looked like a movie stunt..felt nice. But yea ebrake is not a good way to learn how to drift IMO, i think ebrakeing is used to begin the drift to get u sideways then once ur sideways, and in this case in an automatic, you just power over i guess.

Anybody correct me if im wrong, im a noob.

Fix your ebrake, it's fun. Not really the way to initiate for big, high-speed stuff, or competition, but you need the ebrake for angle adjustment, slide extension, and for getting around super tight courses (gymkhana).

But once you get used to it the ebrake its really fun, seeing how far in advance you can initiate for a real tight turn by ebrake sliding into it. One thing I like to do is go waay too fast for a tight turn, then do an early ebrake initiation with crazy angle, looks rad.
