My GREAT weekend.

Well bunch of you saw me at the Moroso event. Yes that went well but I am so pissed and upset right now I dont even want to touch the photos :eek:

Main reason isn't because of the event, its what happened after.

Get on the road and AC is dead. I get 22 miles outside of Miaka City, its raining and my car dies. Yes on the side of SR70. Pitch black, pouring and my hatch.

Well We get out quick and pop the hood because it was smoking bad. Come to find out the AC died and said Fuck it your dead to. So it took the belt. :mad:

10pm call AAA..shitty. No signal in and out.
1015 call Blake. Yes Blake fuller, only guy that we were close to that has a trailer. No luck but offered to help :bigthumbu But no trailer.
1030 -Tow truck driver calles ask what Mile marker we are at! WTF MILE MARKER!...none.
1050 - I get out in the fucking pouring rain to go to a mail box on the phone with the driver....give him the # and I get..I have been driving 30 Miles and cant find you, do u have your hazards on...let me see....YES. i am in DARKNESS, and Rain...hmm..no i am sitting out here with no lights on waiting to DIE.(Yes i said that to him). So he looks on his GPS and says I cant find it and i am contacting AAA to get a nother driver out because ur not in my Zone..so this time I am screaming fucker, shithead and everything else.

11:10 - By this time we start to push the car. :ugh: Yes push. we got it 3 miles total.
11:20 - Couple stop give us where we are and call AAA on their phone. drive on the way!

12:00 = Tow truck!! YEA! nice guy.
12:45 - Arrive at gas station so i could have $ to get it fixed (or would have cost 400 to get it home)

So all in all on 2 hours of sleep, i about died. I still havnt slept good, and now have a nice full week of work.

Do has a friend pick us up and i get home at 1am..today rent trailer and got the hatch.

Well all in all this trip that should have only cost me 50$ ran me close to 250+ and the hatch isnt even fixed.

But I do want to thank Harri, and Mark for letting me shoot. I had a good time meeting you all.

Photos will be up when ever. I have 100 things to worry about right now.

ur not the only one .. i was heading home .. and one of my vacumm lines came loose and i had no breaks!!!! the pedal was as hard as a rock! so i poped the hood and put it back .. the clip or w.e its called to tie it was not there so i had to do some ghetto work and get my shoe lace ( mayb spelled wrong) and tied it as hard as i could and was working i drove like dat from moroso to coral springs :D
 
ah man, Im sorry chris. It was fun hangin with you, and thanks again so much for borrowing the lens. Your awesome. =)

+1 since i sold the miata ive been driving a ford windstar go ahead and laugh lol dd till i get ma 240 i went through too defected alternators in one week and blew the tranny well sorry that happened to u man at least u ight
 
yea bro i dove from moroso to sonics with no oil......Toyotas FTMFW! lol but yea get those pics up i wanna see them! lol
 
Yea that sucks.

I will give you a brief over view of what I did so I was able to make a total of 6 laps and blow a engine.

I decided I wanted to drive Sunday, 7 days before the event, and I knew I would not have the parts to assemble and tune the built engine for the event. So I sourced a ka for 200$

pulled engine out of car sunday
monday after work, stripped all turbo shit and manual transmission shit off my old engine
tuesday after work, put all turbo shit on good engine, AND FIND A HANDFUL OF PLASTIC IN THE OIL PAN AND PICKUP!!!, with enough clearance to clank a tune with my connecting rods. But I put it together anyways.
Wendsday after work, put transmission on and set engine in the car.
Thursday after work, I try to get oil pressure with fuel pump fuse pulled, nada. Tried a bunch of different things to get oil pressure, until i said fuck it, and started it with out priming the engine. heh, got oil pressure. and motor didnt knock
Friday after work, I was working on my 1\4 panel because I needed to finish all the bondo work so it would be water proofed with primer before I drove it on the road.
Saturday after work, Finished bondo work close enough where I could prime it, and went to tune the car. 1\2 way through tuning, I went home for dinner, on the way out, the oil drain plug FALLS OUT, I heard the timing chain rattle and I pulled over immediately. Greg brought me a drain plug and 5 qts of oil, THANK YOU. motor didnt knock Sebastien and I continue to tune the car for 8 psi. Went to bed at 2:30.

Sunday, got to event late because I was tired and took my time 9:30ish, and after my second run I noticed I was low on compression in one cylinder. Dont ask me why but spent almost 3 hours getting heater hose to route the oil from the crank case to a water bottle. And after my qualifying runs I finished off at least another piston, just enough left in the engine to get 90 miles home. On the way home in a construction area on PGA blvd, the wire to my crank position sensor decides to break clean off at the terminal. AKA, engine is not running. I had to dissect an unimportant connector, get the pins out and run the individual pins to the sensor.

^This was so abbreviated its not even funny

But you know, we go through all this hell, and will continue to do it because we LOVE drifting, and I would do all the shit I listed above to drive again.

damn sorry to here this all! but like rick said, we all love drifting.. dont let problems hold u back!!!
 
It sucks that these things happened to you guys. We all love drifting, and we'll go through anything to do it over and over again. I am just going to fix my car and get out there for the next event, and if I crash again, repeat the process.
 
the worst thing about it was I wasnt drifting...i was taking photos :laugh:


Ill have them up in acouple of days.

The 3\8ths hose that he gave me worked well. That one went on the front timing cover. Not so much oil passes through that vent because it has a crazy internal baffle system to catch oil and only vent air. On the other hand, the cylinder head is an entire oil bath while the engine is running, two cylinders of compression running through the crank case picks up alot of oil in the process and throws it where ever it wants through the valve cover vent.

I needed both lower timing cover and the valve cover to be routed to containers, or I would have made a larger mess.
