That info is misleading, the corvette uses a transaxle and a tq tube for the drive shaft, both are heavier that a fbody setup with a t56.
what do u guys think about a vq35de swap? who has a shop that can do a swap? no matter v8 or vq?
costs of those swaps more or less?
my honest opinion would be what you want to do. what kind of goals are you looking for. And what kind of budget are you on. anything other than a KA or SR is going to cost money unless you have great fab skills and the will power to do the wiring. the cheapest and most reliable swap would be a carburated small block chevy with a mustang T5 tranny. you'll have that in and running for under a 1000 if you learn how to weld. cause wiring is not a major issue with a carb'ed motor .
That's b/c its bullshit.
picture of two scales, but I swear I didnt just google scales
This is what gm says

I'm using an LT1 / T56 setup on my car with megasquirt and a ford EDIS system so the optispark just will be caped. Every motor has it's issues. If you plan on going LS1 then you better invest in a dry sump system or at least a accusump . But remember with a V8 comes rear end strengthening ie axles subframe diff. So just have your pennies saved up.
rightttttt.
