motor bog????

hey i have a 89 ka24e that i just swaped with a blown one and i started it today... it cranked 1st try the fireing order is right and all... it ideled perfect but when i rev the motor at 2500 rpm's it's like theres a rev limiter that kicks in.... and it bogs? one of my friends said it could be the MAS, but i thought i could use some more opinions.... thanks JJ

if it bogs at 2500-3500 its usually the maf

yup bad MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) or check the wires make sure its hooked up.
