Whats the top speed on a miata? wikipedia says 119mph but that cant be true
also what rpm's does the car cruise at in 5th on the highway like 60-70 mph

yea that would be top speed on both of my old 1.6 miatas and it took everything it had to get it there and at like 70 mph it was at like 3 grand
 
dam it took everything it had huh, what about the 1.8l
also what kinda mileage u get?
 
the 1.8l miata 99-00 has the best flowing head with around 29-30mph the 94-97 1.8l get around the same mpg. cruising at 60-70 the rpms are around 3700-3800 depending on the gear ratio the car came equiped with. and i wouldnt recommend taking a miata over 130 because they arent meant for high speed, but the gearing tops out at around 133mph
 
my '97 engine gives me about 28-29 MPG mostly city driving. I dunno what the top speed is, but @ 120 she is still begging for more

^^ has a point lol. my shit tops out at about 110-115mph but it could go a bit more if i made a bit more power lol i dont top out the motor it just cant spin any faster lol.
 
in the junker...for me it is...the only 1.8 i found was missing parts and later that day i found another one but it had flood damage....aka water coming out with the oil from the oil pan lol. you getting a miata or something??
 
well if you have any questions man ask away there are a few miata heads out there that know a lot about the little car. 1.8s are not the hardest to find but prepare to pay like JDM prices for them cus everyone wants them...i prefer the 1.6 model motors simply because it has a more affordable aftermarket support than the 1.8s.
 
i was looking at the roll bars cool stuff and its like 500 bucks not bad and they offer bolt on side bars hard dog i believe. what kinda roll bar are u running ryan? i gotta look how much engine, suspension, and brake goodies cost so i have an idea. i think if i get a miata, roll bar is first on the list!

500 Is a lot for a roll bar!! are you crazy? for that just save up 200 bucks more and buy a cage from hard dog!!
 
that not my point lol, my point is 500 for a roll bar is a lot...that better be shipped and installed beause you can get the same thing fabbed up locally for half the price...
