its a beautiful career just be willing to dedicate the next 4.5-5 yeras to studying otherwise you'll waste your time.

Agree...doing my masters in EE now...prepare to give away those years. If your going through it just for the career (i.e. without any passion) then give it up.

my dad has been a mechanical engineer for around thirty years now and its getting very very hard to find work and he has a PHD. Im not saying dont do it but research it before hand. He makes decent money and loves what he does but the company he works for is tanking and hes struggling to find another job thats even close to his pay level.

i thought i wanted to be machanical engineer, went to USF. anyway im now a selfemployed weldor/fabricator and i love it- hate school a lot. <3
