If you have nothing smart to say, then stfu.

Alain, what are you looking to do with your car? Strictly drift?

yea just drifting, thats wat i got in google, 2 way is the best for drifting but it doesnt say why, wat does 2 way does that 1 way and 1.5 way dont

It's in its name. 2 way. Locks wheels going two ways. Forward. Reverse. 1 way means locked during acceleration and open diff in reverse. 1.5 way. Acceleration locked. Reverse 50%. Sorry I'm drunk. Hope that helps

thanks bro! so then id be fine with a 1 way or 1.5 cause im not sliding in reverse lol

ur a fuckin idiot a 2 way will clank, bang, and make these retarded ass noises and it chirps when u take corners so please tell me whats the flippin point in buying a 2 way unless ur in FD smart ass?

first it wont eat tires like a welded, second u wont crash while driving in the rain, a welded is very sketchy to drive on the streets, also 2 way is so much nicer to slide with so how about u stfu noob

lol i am leaving the weld for now but down the road i want to replace it with an lsd

wow i have daiily'ed both 2 ways and a welded diff and there is no difference in the rain if it chirps on dry taking corners what makes you think theres some sort of extra grip in the rain? come on man that was retarded. the welded and the 2 way act completely the same in rain but its true about the tires though.

lmfao!! tremendo come mierda who mentioned about reverse and shit -.- he even deleted his comment. Basically a two way is always locked under load, as well as when braking/ no load, and cornering, a 1.5 way will somewhat lock under no load, and a 1 way only locks under load. Better explanation straight from wiki.

Broadly speaking, there are three input torque states: load, no load, and over run. During load conditions, as previously stated, the coupling is proportional to the input torque. With no load, the coupling is reduced to the static coupling. The behaviour on over run (particularly sudden throttle release) determines whether the LSD is 1 way, 1.5 way, or 2 way.

If there is no additional coupling on over run, the LSD is 1 way. This is a safer LSD: as soon as the driver lifts the throttle, the LSD unlocks and behaves somewhat like a conventional open differential. This is also the best for FWD cars, as it allows the car to turn in on throttle release, instead of ploughing forward.[2]

If the LSD increases coupling in the same way regardless of whether the input torque is forward or reverse, it is a 2 way differential. Some drifters prefer this type as the LSD behaves the same regardless of their erratic throttle input, and lets them keep the wheels spinning all the way through a corner. An inexperienced driver can easily spin the car when using a 2 way LSD if they lift the throttle suddenly, expecting the car to settle like a conventional open differential.

If the LSD behaves somewhere in between these two extremes, it is a 1.5 way differential, which is a compromise between sportiness and safety.
