Okay hopefully this is under the right section. But ive been wondering about since SOME people have been going LS1 and they have to deal with all of that computer electronic BS. Why not try going with a (sb 350)?

carb isnt good for sliding with gas sloshing around and btw wrong section but im doing this swap with an ls7 and t56 6 speed :)

damn it i knew it, so whats the right section?
so thats basically why cause of the gas sloshing around in the carb?

right section would be tech or off topic car talk, site discussion is things going on with the actual website

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Sbc? Really?
Lt1?! Seriously?!

WTF. Ls1 or don't bother. It's the best for weight and it's an awesome motor.

And kid, you arnt doing an ls7, unless this is jto.

about all a LS1 and a 2nd gen smallblock have in common is they have 8 cylinders and pushrods. get a clue.

the LT1 isn't a bad option, you can get the whole motorset for under a grand with a 6 speed, which is pretty rad. although the ignition system is absolutely terrible.

now the carb comment, are you RETARDED?!?! carbs are absolutely fine for drifting, thats probably the dumbest thing i've read on the internet today.

old school smallblocks are cool, they're cheap, and they're different. the big benefit to the ls1 swap is that you more than double displacement, gain a super solid transmission, but don't gain any weight.

comparing the IIgen and IIIgen/later GM smallblock offerings is really somewhat irrelevant, they're two completely different engines.

you need to look at your budget as a deciding factor. unless you have at least 6-8k burning a whole in your pocket don't start a ls1 swap.
