losing faith in drifting =[

your trying too hard to find spots.

and uhhh " go to events "

I know ive said it in the past that you should wait until events to practice and learn. well this weekend at moroso I drove my car for the first time in 9 months. I was a good driver last December, I made all kinds of stupid mistakes and was off my rocker. I had no idea what the car was going to feel like until i put it sideways into the first turn, and holy shit. I wish I had at least 1 night to drive my car before the event because its so different from anything else ive been driving. Then I broke the ring lands in number 2, and had to find some heater hose to send the oil into a bottle. Then I had another 3 runs where another cylinder proceeded to fall apart. Despite the events that went on in the engine, I should have been smoother with my driving and qualified alot better then what I did.

IMO i say "to eachs own." Practice does make perfect, unfortunately not all of us are blesses with what we want (more track time, money for events so on and so forth.) If you wanna street slide i dont support it nor am i against it but what i do stand for is preparation. If your gonna slide on the street you should prepare for what could go wrong and decide if your willing to suffer the consequences of what might happen.

how diplomatic ;)

be smarter then the police.

All I am going to say is, if I crashed on the street the way I did on the track yesterday, I would have felt like I had to run away and hide, and probably feel like shit. When I crashed yesterday, I was at ease man. I wasn't even feeling shitty, or anything at all. Legal drifting events ftw! I will say this though, watching Japanese street drifting videos is funner than watching D1 events, and D1 events are fun to watch, so imagine.

I don't care if people want to street drift or not but to say you're losing faith in drifting because you fail at finding spots or paying for events is like saying you're losing faith in guns because you can't fire within city limits and going to a gun range is not rEaL.

:stupid:
dont get me wrong, i have a few spots of my own that i tell no one about. they are my spots. no one needs to know about them but me, but they are away from civilization. no ones getting hurt out there but me and that would be my own fault. i kick it out on some corners from time to time but street sliding anywhere near people is just careless and shows that you have no regard for the safety of others. go to events. i make it a point to go to all events, no matter where they are. 15 bucks is a walk in the park if you have job, even if your just watching you can learn alot, go on ride alongs. i went on a couple with mike and estie and just watched everything they do and you learn man. :bigthumbu

How about we say anything to an extreme is not suggestible. only drifting on the street= fun but your chance of getting roped if great , only drifting in events= also fun but you only get to know the track your hitting+ your spending big bucks , now if we have a nice balance between them your still at risk but the fun level is still there and you progression will increase. just and opinion but everything in life need a balance and with good balance you might just have good karma.
