L28ET s13 swap in Florida?

a friend of mine has an L28ET (from the 280zx turbo) which he is currently rebuilding to swap into his s13. :eek:

It seems like a pretty rare swap to come by, but I know there are people out there who have done this. He is specifically trying to find if there are any cars in Florida that have this swap done, so he can have a look or whatever.

So if you guys know someone with this swap let me know! Also if you have any information regarding this swap that might make it easier on him or maybe even media that he might enjoy, that would be great!!!


..and YES once the swap is done and everything is properly tweaked, you WILL see this car at drifting events in Florida!!! :bigthumbu

well, i know they can make some good power, but the thing is... he picked up the motor for free and then blew up his KA a month later, so it works out i guess lol.
See, this guy is obsessed with his car being unique... he has already tried a few things here and there that I havent seen yet on anyone's s13, but for now he wants to deal with the motor first.
I dont know how long it will be before the car is totally done, but you guys will see some cool interesting things on this car, i guarantee!

haha yea, i know what you mean. Well the thing is, it wont be mainstream from what people are usually used to seeing from locals. I wont give away any secrets just yet, but he has some good ideas up his sleeve ;) If he pulls it off, then I definatly think it will be unique. :cool:

you have to ask yourself, what would you be suprised to see on an s13?

A good engine! :laugh: jk.
I'd like to see paddle shifters, I know they exist for the automatics. I'd love to drive something that smooth.
 
dam your friend got the motor ive been looking for for 3 years for free?!? Well the swap has been done before but only two 240sxs i know of and they are both no where near florida. Check out HybridZ.org thats the forum the owners are on. oh and if the swap doesn't work out, ill buy that motor hands down(please i really want/need that motor! :eek: ) Where did your friend get it? BTW i hope your friend knows there is almost no aftermarket for that engine...not fun having to measure your own plumbing for your intercooler because theres no kit available. good luck oh and SFZCC is nothing more than a 350Z owner's club hardly any Datsuns in it.

are you on the forum? of course some of them are ex datsun owners but that forum is mostly for 350s, hybrid z would be a better place to search since the L28ET 240sx swap has been actually done by a few members on there.

hahaha yea that would be pretty sweet. Dunno about drifting though, i think manual is the best way to go. :rolleyes: keep guessing! lol

haha yes sir, free as in zero, nada, zip, zilch, $0, absolutely nothin! :eek: :bigthumbu One of my friends had the motor sitting in a shed and was moving out, so he had to get rid of it... so i called up my friend with the s13 and he went over and picked it up for free!

I was looking around at HybridZ.org for a few minutes but didnt really find anything. I'll have to search a little more on there later on. And yea, i think he knows theres not too much aftermarket stuff, but for things like intercooler piping he will probably custom make, its not terribly hard.

It will be a long time until this project is done, its still in the early stages of being rebuilt, but keep an eye out because you WILL see it at some Florida events!
 
i been a club member for 2 years i had a z32 and can vouch for the guys on that forum they know there shit these guys all had modded datsuns including 280's
 
There was a guy in one of the apartments down 87th with 2 300zx, 84-89 model I belive, he has a black turbo one, the other one was stolen and crashed. I haven't seen him in a while though.
