but why would the ka give him problems? with that money he can rebuild it and boost it. almost everyone says ka internals can handle 300hp and with the rebuild it itl b reliable. but me with 3k il get an sr20 because its more of a drift engine and kat more lik a drag motor. go to street fire.net and search one fast slut and ul see what kat can do but ofcourse with internal work. this is just my opnion

well thats true and i have been taking such things into consideration, like diffs, tie rods, rucas, safety equipment, etc. and as for the wreck all that did was break a flca and tension rod. Thats been replaced with oem lca and aftermarket tension rods

well there you go, you know what you still need to go to the car before you get more power. a diff and coils would be the very minimum and im 99% you have an open diff, so there alone would make your car kinda hard to drift with all the power and no way to get it down. you need to work on everything else first before power, but if thats the way you want to do it GL. as for the accident what i was trying to say was you cant even conrtol your car now and you want to get more power, imagine if that wreck wasnt just your flca and tension rod.. im telling your your doing it all wrong... but your you so fuck it.

that accident was months ago and i have since been able to get a feel for my car. ima try to get in as much practice as possible before i get all this done though

sigh... you dont get it... your car lowered will feel like a whole new animal.. do that shit first then go try to drift it, replace all your bushings and shit so everything is nice and tight and not loose and sloppy and then try to drift it again... look at doducious (robert) his car was NA forever and he rebuilt the rest of the car and he had no problem getting it sideways. its a new whole new car when its lowered and with all the suspension shit in it..

first of all $3000 is pushing it if you are going SR..
small break down of stuff
S13 SR = 2000 +
fuel pump = 100
intercooler kit=300
bov=100-200
clutch= 150-350

you are better off buying:
stance coilovers, TC rods, Rucas, subframe spacers or bushings, Swaybars, Toe rods, good engine and tranny mounts.. instead of going SR or KA-T

see im not the only one fucking trying to lead you the right way...

To everyone talking crap about KAs...my KA-T makes almost 320hp and torque to the wheels at only 12psi and has A/C and PS and its completely stock internals and i drive it daily...and i spent a little more than a swapping a smaller motor with a tiny turbo and as much torque as a honda motor from god knows where in japan with god knows how many miles on it...seems like me and Alex are the only guys who actually have FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE with KA-Ts and everyone else is just reading what they heard from the interwebs...SR fanboys FTMFL

also you can turbo a KA yourself if you know how to turn a wrench...not many people can swap their own SR, im assuming you cant

oh and just search, we're not the ones building your car

pulling a motor and harness, not so bad. Ive pulled motors but harness would be learning experience. And ive been looking at nico club and seen that most cause of the ka blowing up have been user error and as for suspension work, ima through a lil more into it. i already might have a deal on some cusco coils and i get a decent discount at murrays on my parts so ill be getting parts from there. if any one knows of a site with good prices i would appreciate it. I wanna price things out before i do anything and rob you can lock the thread. thanks for the help everyone

your next poll will be you asking us how we want you to wipe your ass, what hand to jerkoff with, or how you should put your pants on.

you dont know shit, so you expect us to answer all of your questions or do everything for you. asking for help is one thing, but fuck man, you are 100% ignorant to everything car related.

most upgrades to a car is driver preference. it all depends on how you drive, and what you are doing with the car.....which means your needs are better suited with a taxi or some form of public transportation.

well i had came to the original conclusion of ka-t but once money came into play i found that i would be spending close to 3k which could easily do a sr swap. then i looked into the sr. Then thats when this debate started to come into play. Like ive heard of ka's blowing headgaskets and ive heard of sr's doing the same. And ive heard of ppl arguing that the ka is better for drifting for its low end torque but the sr for being able to withstand high revs. Low end torque would be nice but i have a lead foot and a slow left foot. So its a hard battle for me. Also i was looking to change it up and not do sr cause it seems like nowadays everybody has an sr. but i guess its time to call for a lock of this thread since help here doesnt seem possible

yea i no that part no sense in wasting more money on the tranny swap for a ka if i do sr

If everybody has an SR like you say, that means they're allready made a choice; and they know how to get their money's worth. Some members in this forum will argue till they die!!!!!!!!! about the KA-T wonders. IT IS UP TO YOU.. You need advise call me up. You want a KA-T have alot of money ready, Trust me you're gonna need it to make sure your KA-T handles the power that you desire.

SR Vote for me becuase I'm an SR guy. This is NOTHING AGAINST THE KA-T PEOPLE. Everyone is has a choice. I choose SR.

You say pulling motors and transmissions out it's easier that pulling a wire harness?? I want you to understand that sometimes when you budget things they don't ususally come out to be what you expected because other expenses need to be looked at. BRAND NEW WATER PUMP, BELTS, REAR AND FRONT MAIN DEAL, VALVE COVER GASTKET, SPARK PLUGS, CLUTCH, ETC.

These are the things I tell my costumers to do before they do an SR swap. Sometimes they listen and some don't. Overall I give them the option and my advise, they can either take it or leave it. But they are unexpected expenses that give you piece of mind, and avoid future expenses on your car.

yea i know what your saying moe. Ive seen it go down. I have a buddy for boosted his gto and he ending up spending more money cause of the fuel system he put together. See im pricing things out and then adding more on top as a fail safe just in case. but either way i go ima keep the boost really conservative and try to make things reliable

I'd say go KA-T I like torque. It depends what type of person you are. Yo Paul chill out man, were here to help someone out, not to make them commit suicide.
