i read this on nico, researching single cam n/a build and came across this

if you were really worried about money you could do things really cheap..

get a ka24e block go to a junk yard or a buddy get a de head only slightly moddifications needed to the fornt cover. then get de pistons right there you are very high compression.. so people say on here i guess you are up in the 13.5.1 some peopel got as much as 14.6.1 and then the exspensive part is a greddy e management.
go to A motor cycle junk yard and a get a gsx-r 1000 ITBS i believe those are pretty good for a good n/a build cut up yur old intake mani lowes has rubber hose and clamps i thinks its about maybe 45 bux for all the hose and clamps.
thats not really much money you would need maybe bigger valves 3 angle valve job q45 MAFS 450cc dsm injectors. and 10mm spark plug wires with some ngk spark plug or something good.
and a good port and polish and im sure you would be making over 200hp

you also have to keep into consideration that KA cranks are not fully counter weighted.

Thats why KA's make shit for power all motor, especially above 5500 when the power starts to drop. (Due to vibrations)

Best way to make alot of n/a power (lol alot of n/a KA pwr) is with a fully counterweighted crank, head work etc etc. But then that defeats the purpose of a quick cheap build lol

were can i get counterweighted crank?

Im not 100% sure, im sure a machine shop could fully counterweight an oem crank for you. although im not positive on that.

I have never really researched companys that make em, I know the brian crower crank is fully counterweighted however thats for their stroker kit. Maybe you can see if they make a stock ratio crank fully balanced

if your over i believe around 12.1 compression you'll have to run higher octane gas. n/a has good response but boost is where its at IMO

and you can buy the gsxr 1000 ITB's off ebay for 100 bucks. no need to hassle a junkyard.

good luck with whatever you decide to do. but just so you know its alot harder and more expensive to do things n/a unless you have a v8 that is.

i did sohc pistons in dohc ka port and polished head and intake manifold blah blah blah shit would only run on 93 and only run right on a mix on 93/100 though i didnt do shit to tune it it was fast as shit for na for the first 3 weeks then went down hill from there way too much compression even with arp studs and a cometic
