Iphone 2g repair anyone?

My screen cracked and i ordered the repair kit/parts. The stupid 'case seperator' i got was chinsy and the case won the battle. I have a new screen with a digitizer attached so I need to get in there and take old out.

Anyone have skills or have the better set of tools? I could toss some $$ your way to fix or borrow the tool for $5?

I've replaced my glass on a 3GS... Your tool crack opening the phone or separating the glass from the LCD?
 
it was supposed to seperate the front and back case parts. it just sucked.

i have places here that will do it but they want like 80-100$ to do it. whole 2gs go on internet for sale at 100$ heh.
 
Those tools are supposed to break. I was working on a macbook pro a couple weeks ago and went through the same crap. Your local apple store should have at least one cool "genius" who will do this for you free of charge. If not just tell him how cool and smart and non-conforming he his.

yeah for real.
I have a 3gs now and I was letting our roommate borrow my old 2g, and long story short he destroyed it on the sidewalk in downtown Orlando.
He paid me for it using what it would cost on craigslist and we found some in really good condition for like 60 bucks.

apple store ftw though, they've always been really helpful with my iphones and macbook.
