hey everyone ricky cash here

i am looking to put up a quarter glass on an s14, and am just wondering which silicone to use, i was told, that i should use the stuff that comes in the caulking tubes. howeveri just wanna make sure, before i go out a buy several tubes of adhesive

thanks in advance

First off I would ask an auto body and paint supply store for a recommendation on which glue to use. Most often they are sold in a caulking tube and you should only need one tube for both sides.

The hardest thing \ or where experience shines is how you clean the mating surfaces. Take your time and make sure that its clean and that you apply an even amount of glue and you should be good.

use OEM nissan sealant the onlys tuff that will last longer then the car!!!dont use anything else, if you cant get it use only 3M stuff!!!

i work at sanibel glass i deal with this stuff alot.

there are a lot of types of silicone that come in caulking tubes. i'm not too familiar with auto glass, but for reglazes and stuff for windows in houses we usually use "silicone I" there are different types for different strengths.

just search around. i'm sure if you go to home depot and ask the person there would know

well suck me sideways, i didnt know you worked at a glass company this is nice to know!

go to the paint store and get Window/ windshield weld. It comes in a black tube caulking tube. that is the stuff we use for windshields and windows for the cars at the shop. trust me this stuff will definitely last and its definitely better than jus silicone that stuff is for house windows.

FIRST OF ALL:

DO NOT USE SILICON! It will cause rust!

Second: Goto an Auto Paint Supply and get the right stuff there.

Go to autozone and buy 3m window weld. It works good I had to re seal my quarter window and used that and it works good. I use it to fix a motormount in a maxima too lol. That shit is strong.
