injector swap...

im trying to up injectors to a bigger CC, and was wondering what needs to be done.
Common sense tells me that i would need a fuel managment system ( apexi SAFC )
and a fuel pressure regulator, and bigger injectors. I did the 5 speed swap but left the auto ecu do i need a 5 speed to use a safc? Any input would help.

an apexi safc is not "fuel managment" its just a band-aid for it!!!! tuned ecu or standalone!!!

so the apexi is a " piggyback"?( wouldn't that work to adjust the fuel to make a bigger injector work?) What would i have to do to put in bigger injectors on a na tuned car? I came across some 4g63t ( Mitsubishi turbo GS X) injectors, I will turbo charge the ka24e as soon as possible but i was to get the feel of the car before major mods. thanks for all the help

I wouldn't use Mitsu injectors. Under heavy use getting close to the upper limits of their duty cycle they will lock and stay at max duty cycle. I've had a few friends with hondas and mitsus have this problem. STI injectors are 550cc and you can use those. Top feeds are an option, but require more work, i.e. custom fuel rail, to make them work. Simple upgrade for a light turbo application, SR 370cc injectors or the larger S15 units. SAFC is a piggy back and will get you only so far. If you're running relatively low boost with modest fuel needs then an SAFC is fine.

You can still use an auto ECU in a 5 spd KA.

no need to run larger injectors on an NA car unless your are trying to save down time before installing the turbo .

I used the 450cc low impedence from a dsm and they ran at low duty cycle...I too used an safc II. I played it safe and tuned it with my wideband, stayed around 11.8-12.1 afr's on boost. That was with a ka24e. I also stayed at 10psi of boost, I would not use a piggyback for tuning once you start boosting more. Standalone or jwt. Pulled hard! :bigthumbu
I wouldn't install the injectors until I've started the turbo build if thats what your trying to do...putting larger injectors on a n/a ka is like throwing money in the garbage and just wasting more gas...

lol, well that would me pretty pointless. thanks for all the help. where would i be able to get a turbo manifold for a ka24e? im guessing a custom equal length would be best?
