i need help with my cruise control

when i press the cruise control button on the far left of the dash the light turns on but it wont set. it says its on but when i let go of the accelerator the car will slow down. it wont engage. could it be the cruise control motor or hoses or something. any one with some info please lmk. thanks.
 
+1 to this question! im having the same problem. it happened after the tranny swap, obviously it has to do with that, but i cant figure out what.
let me know what happens with it!
 
I Travel Alot So I Need Cruise Control. Its My Daily Driver. Does Anyone Have Any Experience With Cruise Control That Could Give Me Some Hints On What Could Be The Problem? Thank You.

ha who needs cruise control just get a kick ass steering wheel and it takes all that stuff away.

+ 1 .. Take that shit off .... Plus it makes your engine bay look alot cleaner ....
 
I Need It. I Travel Alot. My Car Is My Daily Driver. I Do Alot Of Trips To Orlando And Once You An Hour Into The Turnpike Your Ganna Wish You Had Cruise Control.

I got the same problem with both of my s13's and I'm planning to get to the bottom of it.
I just want to find out why the f@%k the cruise control is not kicking in.

Sorry to bring back this post. But I FINALLY DID IT!!!!. I fixed my cruise control. There were two problems that was causing my cruise control to not engauge. First: The cruise control motor wasen't creating a vacum and would not hold the throthle open. Second: and probably the most comon problem with the 240sx's cruise control problem, is that the Brake pedal cancel switch goes bad. In order for cruise control to work properly it looks at several things: Vehicle speed, vacum, and brake cancel switch. If one of these components fail, you would not have cruise control.

I hope you guys can fix your cruise control problem, I know I did and I'm happy with my cruise control. :bigthumbu
