i got $300 wat should i get??

shocks and springs are fine for learning, then save for the next year and by then you will be ready for something stiffer aka $1500 coilovers, or be cheap and get $400 AGX's...

shocks and springs or j-30 diff, or perhaps a drift button... ;)

never knew they were that big a deal(coilovers)
just figured why buy shocks and spring and then buy coilovers i thought ide might as well just buy sum megans

The autoX people who you "spoke" to dont have a fucking clue what they are talking about. Maybe im wrong.....maybe they autoX on 100% crack/pothole/ditch/missing blacktop/uneven terrain free parking lots. I will be evern more wrong if they autoX on road courses.......even then im yet to see a perfect road course here in Fl. Coilovers respond well on one thing.......good surface. When you hit a dip in the road when cornering, most coilovers will wheel hop in the rear, giving you useless traction. Coilovers also hamper weight transfer in a low speed autoX course, sometimes producing understeer.

You will learn alot here from certain people, dont show up acting like a hard ass and listen to the people who know what they are talking about.

You know in road racing, a driver\ team will setup their car during the practice session adapting their setup to the track that they are driving on? Not being able to adjust your driving or knowing how to change your suspension is a lack of experience. Practice more, and write down notes of every aspect of the car that worked well in what situation.

Remember to always consider the source on any information you want to learn from.

not to beat the dead horse but to give you more insight on the coilovers VS shocks/springs in japan i started off with lowering springs on stock shocks.... why cause it was cheap and i was new.... after a few months of touge/autoX/ and drift practice i bought shocks.... after a while i got used to it because there was nothing to really adjust only the dap setting.... you learn how you car will handle because you dont need to worry about the finer points is setting up suspension.... after i got my first coil overs i went all out and bought the tein drift.... great by the way.... but after learning a little more and driving other peoples cars for some reason i liked having HKS rear coil overs and the teins in front.... point is you gotta start somewhere.....

i would say get some shock/springs.... or go on ebay and get a front and rear strut tower bar.... but if dan has a diff i would get it.... you will get more out of that diff now than any other part you buy for 300 bucks.....

perfect thanks alot for the insights im jus gonna go with a nice shock/spring combo the car needs a lil bit more fine tuning b4 she can hit the tracks so yea for those who were interested my mods include:
exterior:s13 silvia conversion,black roof
interior:s14 seats,nismo steering wheel,r34 shiftnob,PARTIAL 5 point harness,gutted rear end
suspension:front and rear strut bars, front and rear bottom control arm braces, front and rear urethane sway bar bushings, front and rear tension rod bushings
engine:ka24de,hotshot headers,248 grind cams,aem intake,custom 2.5 in exhaust
brakes:brembo rotors,hawk pads
soon to come:sr20det redtop from jdm of miami, coilovers

If you're looking to upgrade your suspension, I'd say get a decent set of coilovers and ignore the spring/shock suggestions. If you don't get what you want the first time then in the long run you won't be happy and you'll end up spending more money in the future. Its not like coilovers will not make learning any more difficult.

I'd get some kind of diff (if you don't already have one) first though...Dan's selling a very nice one - granted you'll have to save a wee-bit more money first.
