im having constant problems with this car. its very annoying

well tonight i finally decided to look into my interior harness problem. the connectors to the whole rear lights dont line up. i think the harness is out of a 240sx coupe

my friend had the idea of just test lighting them. so we did. nothing lit up.

so we just tried to track the whole interior harness to remove it from the car. it didnt end well. we stopped at the dashboard because we cant get back there unless we unbolt the dash from the car.

im seriously really aggrivated with this car. nothing works in the interior except for the gas gauge, oil temp gauge, gauge lights, hazzards and cruise control.

auto seatbelts, auto windows whole rear light setup, does not work.

im truely lost on this car i wish everything on the harness were labled because theres connectors that dont even go to anything...

u may have a hatchback interior harness....
check the fsm for locations of plugs wireing..
it helps...
i know that theres 2 main body harness...one that goes to engine bay..ie front lights etc..
and the 2nd one goes to the back lights fuelpumpe etc...i swapped my coupes body harness b4..cause i wanted power windows etc so i put one from a fullpower coupe...
everything pluged in with no problems

if i have a hatchback harness then why wont my taillight connectors line up? the harness has no connectors that would fit the taillight connectors. the only thing that connects is the fuel pump

Haven't seen the difference in connectors between tailights between the coupe and hatch, but can't you just splice and connect?

But if you're truly done with it... can I has?

theres no connection going through the harness. i test lighted all the connectors. nothing lit up. theres also so many connectors that are just laying out in the open that go to nothing at all. its really confusing and annoying.

if i really get tired of these elecrical problems i will sell the car and start over on another 240

Just unbolt the dash dude, don't give up on it. Try getting a new harness if possible, check all your cables/fuses/grounds, and refer to the FSM. That shop really screwed you over though, should've killed them, IMO.

I had electrical problems with my old car. Its amazing what a group of guys you don't know can do for you to help just for a few cases of beer.

My suggestion is to turn this thread into who wants to come help and ill supply the beer just tell me what you all drink. It worked for me and all I bought was corona and bud light

yeah just dont give up
like dude said u gotta take dash off...to remove to main interior harness
anyway above the drivers kick panel should be the multijuction connector..
it splits the harness in 2..ie front lighting system...etc
and the one u have an issue the main interior harness its with the fuse panel....
they both go behind the dash so u have to remove it for sure...
the harness goes up the drivers side of car under driver seat and under bak seat
if it doesnt plug up to shit then sum one tried to use another type of harness
ur best bet is to source another harness and replace it.....
hope that halps:eek2:

haha. im to young to buy beer

well i test lighted ever connector. none lit up. then i tested the fuse box under the dash. the right side all lit up but the left side didnt light up. tomorrow i will unbolt the dash. i wanted to today but it wont stop raining

well i was sitting on xbox bored as hell so i decided i wanted to remove the dash now
