i was doing my oil change earlier and the nut that holds bolt in side the pan came loose and now the bolt wont catch on but i jb welded it. question is will the nut inside go all over the place or stay in the pan??

haha kaboom, you should never put j b weld on your oil pan bolt... how did you plan to change your oil from then on ???

i would say that it is fine to start the motor, but that depends on how much clearance you have between your oil pan and the bottom of the end caps. anyone whos taken apart your kind of motor should hopefully know whether or not its ok.

I've had this happen... SUCKS royally i wouldn't drive the car. Their's a chance the nut will stay in the sump because of the baffle's then again their's a chance it will find it's way up...

I drilled my hole wider with heavy grease on the drill bit to grab as much metal as possible , got the nut out and welded a peice of sheet metal over the hole to cover it up as a temporary fix until i could pull the engine and replace the pan.

This was my solution. It doesn't have to be your's maybe it will find it's way up the pickup tube into your oil pump... lol... that's what made me drill mine...
