Help!!! water in car s13

well as u guys know its been raining like hell in miami over the past week and i have my car in backyard waiting for parts to come in. today like at 1130am when it stop raining i realized that alot of water got into my car. any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening in the future. the weather strips around my doors are sealed my sunroof also but my hatch doesnt have any weathering protection might this be the area were its coming from. any body have this happening to them or had once happen to them

okay i had the same happen to me and it was coming in through 2 places. the tail lights ( just remove them and put some more of the sealant putty) and secondly when you open your hatch on the top corners there some harnesses that run to the hatch seal those up. very common from what i hear

if ur hatch has that stock SE spoiler....u may have rust under that spoiler. I kno i do:(

the smartest thing to do wud be to get a water hose and hose ur car where u think the water is gettin in at.....wen u figure that our like the other guy said either seal it up or replace the weather stripping...

Best way to get the water out is to take out the rubber grommet blocking that hole in the spare tyre well while it's sitting. After it's running again put it back in.

Also, check the seal for the real hatch. Sometimes those can become brittle and crack and you won't be able to see it.

Taillights as well. Follow the above advice about those. After you get some money, it pays to invest in a new set of door seals if you plan to DD or keep the car for a long time.

+1 take out the little rubber thing on the tire spare.. also do u have any cracks on the hacth it self? cuz i have some .. and thats were it leaks..

Theres really no point to remove the rubber plug bc its not going to stopur ride from getting wet, but at least it helps remove the water that already settled in and helps it dry up well to avoid rust.
Cover it up for now and when u get a chance get a buddy to sit inside while u throw water on it with a hose so u can find exactly where iys leaking on through,

best of luck to u homie

1. change into your board-shorts

2. call up the ladies for a pool party

3. I'm just kiddin man, same shit happens to all of us, good advice posted, I had to reseal my tail lights but I waited to soon to test them and took the car into a car wash, so I gotta do mines over too, just be careful when you pull them out, you don't want to crack the lens.

Yea, the same thing was happening to me. It was coming in through the tail lights. If that's the case, as already mentioned, take out the lights carefully and place a special sealant around. If you still haven't found where it's coming in through, the best thing to do is have someone wet the hatch all around with a hose while you sit in the car and spot out where the water comes in through, also already mentioned. And do pop out the little rubber seal at the bottom where the spare is cuz you don't want an f'ing lake down there like I once had. lol I could hear the ocean waves in my own trunk! Good luck :bigthumbu

bro just find where the waters puddling up in ur car, pick up the carpet get ursef a 5/8 drill bit and put a hole in the floorboard! there u go!!!! end of problem!!!
