:digs grave deeper: fyi all 5.0 motors are the same style cam in valley pushrods to rocker and so on lol, until the modular 4.6 ohc v8 and dohc came out
 
thank you what i would do buy 5.3 truck motor 300 bucks ls1 heads intake mani t5 trans clutch flywheels fab up some mount and have 300 stock wheel hp then later throw on a supercharger low boost and mke 4-500 reliable hp just my plan

5.3 Vortec Motor, Camaro or TransAm Accessories and Intake( or Fast etc..), could get away with a t-5 but they are junk, go T56, LS7 Clutch and Flywheel. Headers, Intake, Exhaust, and tune will get you 300whp, cam with get you another 20 or so. No need to get ls1 heads. Did I mention 25-30 mpg capable.
