Ok I officially went to see the movie tonight at a free sneak preview sponsored by my company. Let me just say this as far as comparisons go, GI-JOE owns Transformers 2 in regards to plot and just overall fun for everyone. I still say Transformers 2 robot on robot action was phenomenal however it cannot hold up an entire movie with just that.
If you remember GI-JOE from when you were growing up then I think you might like it. It was a blast straight from the start of the movie all the way to the end. As for as the storyline being completely accurate with the actual series on t.v. hey "Its Hollywood".

Just wanted to add this.
They go Tthrough backflash storylines to show how some of the characters end up being the way the are. I.E. Snack Eyes vs. Storm Shadow, Duke and the Barroness backstory. Destro and his lineage as well as how Cobra commander ends up being the way he is.
