i agree, there are other options but if you dont want to ride a bike or a bus to work then pump gas into your car. when your approaching a red light dont race to get there just let go of the gas and start slowing down this helps your mpg. then when the light turns green dont floor it, take off slowly again this helps too. who cares if the ppl behind you are pushing you to hurry up, move out the way if possible, but remember no one else is paying for your gas. when you are at the pump dont let the trigger pump the gas for you, press the nozzle a quart of the way.

I used to fill up for 40ish around like last october, but now its gonna be getting close to 55-60 :( I'm gonna start running my Rx-7 off hydrogen, or alcohol...


I'll out that new hydrogen powered Rx-8 engine to the test...

ok i hear so much people saying they crashed their bike after so little time other they are scared of it... guys and gals... i never in my entire life rode a bicicle lol .... neither a motorcycle... i went aheade and seen gas prices so high i bought myself a Hyosung GT650R i could have bought a 250 or a 125 (since they make all of them on full size bike) but im big and fat lol so i wouldnt get nothing that is going to have problems carrying me and my wife :p lol ... (sorry offtopic lol) ...but my point is i bought it in may 1st of 2007 i paid 4,500 dollars for it brand new, i already use it everyday (except this last week since im transporting car parts all day lol) but i have clock 23,000 miles on it and i have never ever had an accident i have gone across the state, across all florida, i drive all day long since 8 am to 7 pm in heavy traffic around calle ocho and many other crowded places... i yes i have people cut me off, honk me... i even had some asshole throw me a pepsi can .. lol but i pay 10 dollars every 300 miles (or 275) depending how much you like to rev your bike. and its a lot better looking than a scooter lol !!! off course is not an R1 or Gixxer... but i didnt want to pay 10,000 usd for a bike... lol still is 650cc and gives around 72 to 65 mpg (as always depending on your reving love.. lol) so if you get a bike....sorry before you get a bike... go ahead save 300 dollars do a MSF RIDER (a motorcycle riding academy) they will get you the motorcycle endorsment , and you will have fun in skid pads and other objectives on the course. (i myself didnt do it but i want to.. even that i have ridden for more than 20,000 miles...you can always learn something)
and if you ended up loving your bike so much.. you can always do track racing wich is very exciting and fun !!

i learn to ride my bike the first day i bought it and i havent fall yet.. i ride on rain , thunderstorms, flood lol , mud, etc.. is all about behaving correctly while ridding if you are going to fly thru intersections and do fast and the furius style stunts.. lol you might be great on it.. but the other cars dont know how to react to bikes.. they are cages not used to seeing a bike on the road.. and they think because their car is bigger your life is ZERO.. so always be thinking ahead like the car hates you and will try to kill you lol..

PS: the new ninja 250 is out and looks AWESOME ;)!! cheap on gas !! :)

I just saw on the news, all major oil companies are now going out of business. They've never been hit so hard. The SFL drifter gas strike has won!!!
 
You guys who want the government to solve this problem - the problem lies in consumer trends. People in this country should start taking responsability for themselves. In other words, learn to conserve or stop bitching. The government can't help you here. OPEC is not government controlled and they really don't care how much you complain.

China only consumes 30% of the oil the United States does.

Not only that, China produces much of what it consumes meanwhile the USA produces very little of what it consumes.

The sad truth is that blind arrogance & near-sightedness has created the problem we're facing in this country.

danm tony someone actually finish school lol .... that's right and opec laughs at USA since if they ask for 200dollars a barrel USa will pay for it anyway.. second of all the price of the gas has to do with the taxes the goverment impose on them.. i think is not fair for truckers that are the backbone of transport in the country.. how can diesel be more expensive than gas ?? i have lived i 5 countries and diesel is always the cheapest since it has les production stages and is less expensive to derivate from petroleum... ..

Federal gas tax is 18.4 cpg (cents per gallon) while diesel is 24.4 cpg.

Florida state excise tax on gas is 14.5 cpg while diesel is 27.2 cpg

There are also local taxes in FL (by county) with a weighted average of 14.6 cpg (range: 9.9 to 17.8 cpg).

Just throwing some numbers out there for you guys for those that don't know.
