For all your hardcore or Old school anime fans..

ok your a real anime fan if.....

...you know what a naru punch is.
...you know what oro means and what anime made it popular.
...you watched every single ghibli anime
...you knew akira was ahead of its time
...youll watch anything anime at least once
...sometimes traps are girls (right tj :p...haruhi)
...you download all the new anime as it comes out (even on 56k)

What about G Gundam and Red Baron and Gundam Seed, Toonami at least had something on. Then there was Blue Seed, Big "O", Dragon Ball Z x2 a night, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop and so forth.

Cartoon network went downhill when they starting messing with Toonami back in late 03-04. Then I heard that there was going to be an actual anime network but i never saw that come to fruition.

There is to many good anime that never made it here to watch. On Scifi however they have some anime on. I have seen Applseed on there as well as Ghost in the Shell and Ninja Scroll as well as the Street Fighter Series.

For those to think your are being purists about watching it in Japanese because you are a hardcore fan and all, that is total crap. who draws the line to say you are a fan or not by how you watch it. If you watch it and enjoy it then enough is said. Whether in English or Japanese I consider myself a big fan.

And Zoids was awesome!

Its not being a purist. I can give two craps about being a purist about something like anime :ugh:. Its about the simple fact that English dubs are like screeching banshees eating away at your sanity. Honestly I think they pay the voice actors to do it as bad as they can on purpose. Even Spanish dubs are a lot better done than English ones.
 
I dont think all the language dubs are that bad. I think the thing that bothers me the most about english dubs are the translations. I think they are missing the context in which the characters are talking.

Cowboy Bebop is and was the greatest anime ever created in my opinion as well. Its the only anime that really made me an emotional wreck haha. I want to find the original box set so bad.
 
well i think at least DBZ was dubbed really well. I got my external HD with something like 45 different series on it lol, just got done watching ruroni kenshin and samurai x, next on the list i think will be love hina, or trigun. Though i know it doesnt count as an anime i was always partial to the Batman animated series as well as my screen name suggest i think the Joker has got to be my fav villain of all time ^_^ JOKER FTW
