ok funny thing is that its said this movie is suppoused to be filmed in japan, but all this was taken in LA, so it is not known yet if these are just backup cars that were just built or it is actually being filmed in LA....

hmmm i like the Z's and the NSX looks nice Evo pwns.

ehh will be an enternaining "film" and prolly just that.

The mustang disgusts me not because it is a ford but because it has a skyline engine. I love ford v8s!

fortune kit on fd..............i think it cost about half a gillion bux

man you know veilside gave them the kits so they can basically advertise there new line of body kits/conversions that came out.

Yeah look at all the cars in all the movies they've always Used Veilside. In the first one Vin Diesel's RX-7 had a Veilside kit as did a few others in the second movie.

...a good point was made....it will simply be entertainment at the most...im actually hoping to see sum good slides in the movie...

....to look on the positive side... maybe it will open the eyes to more sponsers out there....im breaking my neck tryn to get sponsers...

and urr, umm i wanted to bring up a point someone made on a previous topic....yes im hoping this gets as big as NASCAR...but not in the trailor trash sense.... im hoping this gets the attention...not just as NASCAR, but like Indicar and all those that are highly respected throughout the world. An event that is watched on ESPN or any of the channels that are seen on even basic cable..lol. little kids wearing t-shirts that show our cars that we took the time to build an put our sweat into..an to see them wearing out finished product. To see each one of us rolling with a team living it out....

I guess it all starts with a step...an we are all taking it. i mean lets be realistic; who just does this so they can say they drift because its a new thng to do....i dont think anyone on here does that....

ok im done beat'n a dead horse here....
...hope they have sum hot chicks in the movie!

hahahhahahaa....

...and they better be asian or someone is getting hurt.

but yea it really depends on the following. If the movie comes out and then all of a sudden your getting 30 accidents a week from people trying to drift then lets just say its going to be far from respected. I know alot of the famous drivers are starting to look into this sport now because they see a high income market that is generated towards the new generation! but well have to wait and see...like i said it can go both ways here.

3fast 3furious looks like some lame joke to me. A movie made in the US as if they were in Japan doesnt really appeal to me. 1/2 of the cars are expensive, brand new and something unseen in Japan... they are giving drifting a whole different image than what it is. And that ford with the RB? Wow.

I'll probably still watch it tho because I suck at life.

^^^^ EXACTLY!!!!

Who in their right mind would drift a fortune fd unless they were in D1? And not only that, I felt like vomiting when I saw the RB in the damn mustang. Thats just discusting. I have a bad feeling about this movie and what it will portray of drifters. I have a feeling that the ricers will not be the only ones targeted by the cops for no reason after this movie. I really hate what F&F is doing to non-ricey car enthusiasts. It just makes us look bad and stupid. But like Erick said, I will most likely still watch it just out of curiosity.

my advice if you guys dont like it then maybe you should make an underground movie...something to show the world the real life of drifting...i mean look at napolean dynamite...they spent what? (help me out nelvis) pocket change to make that movie and it was a hit...wouldnt hurt to film your own movie and maybe selling it too a big company.

...lol it definately would be like napolian dynamite ---most of us are nerds. Ill be Kip. In all the old option videos everyone looks like dorks. --The problem with the movie is they're probably going to show drifting as some big competative thing. It's very much unlike organized racing or street racing. It's more like skateboarding. It's not about winning but just having fun and getting respect, winning in competition comes with that. Drifting started in the streets and it wasn't about who was the best... and i know the movie will be about "street drifting" and winning is going to be a big part of the movie otherwise it wouldn't be interesting to people other than us.

...there you have it ladies an gentlemen;...heres one thing though....i read an article stating that the begining of the movie will begin in the US...then its suppsoed to revert back to Japan....

...if you want to read the subject on the movie...here it is: or you can go to the site ( http://www.vh1.com/movies/news/articles/1504202/06152005/story.jhtml )

As the Chris ("Cellular") Morgan-penned script now stands, the third "Furious" film tells the story of Shaun Boswell, a 17-year-old American street-racer whose mother brokers a deal that allows him to avoid prison if he leaves the country. Sent to live with his military-employed uncle in Tokyo, the youth finds himself intrigued by the underground phenomenon of drift racing.

"It's about turning these corners on these roads, and how you handle it — it's not a straightaway race," Lin said of the real-life Asian phenomenon. "There are certain things required [of the cars] — you have to have rear-wheel drive; you can't have a four-wheel drive or a front-wheel drive, so you can pull the e-brake and stuff like that. You can drift, you can actually glide these turns, and be very efficient. It's not all about the speed; it's all about how you take these turns, so on a winding road you'll be kind of sliding back and forth very gracefully. It's interesting, because from a distance it looks very graceful, but when you're up close it's all about traction."

Lin confirms that the stars from "The Fast and the Furious" and its sequel, "2 Fast 2 Furious" (including Walker, Diesel, Eva Mendes and Ludacris), won't be a part of the third installment, and that the only true link between the three films will be the cars themselves. Nevertheless, he considers the lack of familiarity to be freeing.

"We're casting [the character of Shaun] and we're thinking of this kid that will go with the sensibility of the movie I want to make, which is more of a global sense. Someone that you can't quite tell what he is," the director said, hinting that his new star will have a Diesel-esque ambiguity. "We're building a whole new cast; we're looking at everybody. The thing that excited me was that it's a brand-new film; we don't want any holdovers. For me, it's very much like a postmodern Sergio Leone movie. Structurally, it's very much like a Western."

Lin, a cinema-savvy director with a fondness for Leone's classic "Man With No Name" trilogy, says the battle between Shaun and a villain racer known as the "Drift King" will have echoes of the classic battles in "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" and the other films. "It's really just these two guys who are alpha males, and it's your classic Western setup: They have a little showdown at the end. That's pretty much all I can give you now, because I'm in the process of working that out. But think Western, think Leone Western."

The young director, who also cites Richard Linklater and Steven Soderbergh's careers as blueprints for the kind of studio-straddling indie filmmaker he'd like to become, says he'll find time to polish up the script in between all this scouting and casting. "Even if someone has to be a heavy, or a love interest, I don't want to take that for granted," he insisted. "I want to try to work really hard on the back story. In the initial script, they are Asian and some are Asian-Americans, and I'm working really hard to make them three-dimensional rather than just props, and that's always the challenge. But I feel like I'm up for it — so far so good. I guess we'll see next summer how it turns out."

Lin promises that casting announcements will be made over the next couple of months, and that the film will stay on target for a June 16, 2006 release. He also makes one last pledge: The currently untitled film will not be called "3 Fast 3 Furious."

"God," he laughed. "I really hope not."
