guys, i hate to throw reality into the mix but i think you guys are missing alot of details that make events like ter-tech happen... time, money and commitment
like how many cars will you average per event?
how much is the entry fee for drivers and spectators?
how much is track rental?
insurance?
I know everyone thinks they know but what happens if your "perfect" event doesnt make enough money to cover the event? who pays that bill?
sit back and think guys, there is a reason why there isnt 40,000 events going on... people need to make money to justify their time and commitment. everyone is all about it now b/c this idea is in its "honeymoon" stage but what happens when the shit hits the fan? who will be there to answer for everything... some guy who doesnt get paid? i highly doubt it.
listen, i am just trying to show you guys that everything always works in "theory" but when it comes down to implementing those ideas, no matter how much planning you have done, sometime it just fails.
a points only series sounds good in theory... but bills got to be paid
if you guys are DEAD serious about this (this is the whole commitment thing) go out and start a legit operation and make it happen, dont just sit back and make a rulebook and expect some other person to be like, i will take it from here.
ask harri and tim just what it takes to run an event... i am pretty they will tell you its not hopes and dreams.
sorry for the rant but it needed to be said
