Flash Drift Demo

That was all I could get done in one day... My main point of today was to get the code of movement to work. If you can't tell, I basically used 'Asteroids' physics....lol. I have tracks made, different cars, and various other things. (I made clips that I will use to make it look like the car is drifting, smoking tires, and crashing... ) The next thing I have to do is add in braking, which shouldn't take very long. Maybe 15 minutes. After that, its a long hard road. I have to figure out how to make the level design. I have made the tracks, like I said, but I need to figure out how I am going to score it. My basic idea for the score is "if car is at 25*, then add 10pts per second. if car is at 45*, then add 30pts per second." (No reference to the real angles, just ones off the top of my head.) The problem I will encounter is that if youjust do donuts in the parking lot (1st level) you gain points.

Other things... I need to make the car smaller, and the stage bigger. I need to center the start button. I need to add the smoking wheels movie clips before I forget how to do it. And this needs to all be done before Dec17 or I don't get a good grade for my Flash Design class.... lol

lol..it reminded me of asteriods..id love to play it when its done

I will keep this threda updated with the new releases... I hope to have a few things fixed tomorrow, and I will upload the newest versions as they come.

Ok, Version 2 is here. I added a reverse/brake and I started working on the level design/backgrounds. Only one so far; can't figure out atm how to change them.... This should be easy. Maybe for tommorrow.. Scoring system is in the works, too.

Edit.. Ooops.. Forgot Link.
