Yeah, the Opel Ascona was N/A and had no power steering either, so the driver was struggling a bit at first but when he got to the groove, man it went well. He was a first timer as well I was told.
The yellow Ford Escort MK1 Mexico was really tearing it up. Only 1600cc of pushrod engine power from the 1960's, but tuned in Finland to 151 bhp. No AE86 or similar can touch the coolness of this thing! The guy has been competing in rally competitions for many years and has now got the drift feaver as well.
The guy in the white S13 Silvia was also a first timer, and did amaze us with some brave angle during the day. If he didn't make the corner for the first 3 attempts, he just kept pushing harder and when he eventually got it right, it really had an impact. Showmanship indeed.
The camo RPS13 and both Supras did really well and were consistent in hitting all the clipping points. They will be tough competitors at the round 1. The black RX-7 did well too, having the fastest entry of the day with a margin of almost 10mph. Shame he won't be competing much this year due to having another child.

Nah, Hannu's car isn't in driving condition yet. Hannu was concentrating on teaching the new judges and giving out hints to the drivers during the day.
